The ‘must do’ day lagoon cruise aboard the 21 meter Polynesian style Vaka Titi ai Tonga.Every morning at 10am Mondays to Saturdays, the sound of the conch shell signals the departure of the Vaka for six hours of lagoon magic. There’s snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing to do before tucking into to an island barbecued lunch of fresh caught ocean fish served on board and accompanied by a full bar service.Visit several motu (small islets) and beach comb at One Foot Island before returning past the old TEAL flying boat base. Impromptu entertainment by the crew will have you tying pareu, weaving coconut leaf plates or humming island tunes. They are always happy to provide snorkelling lessons for first timers.

We were picked up from our resort to go on our lagoon cruise. All guest have a reserved seat with towel at a table so it doesn't feel crowded. Our main host, Ali was excellent, well spoken and lots of fun, singing with a ukulele and drum, telling us local history and showing us traditional customs while getting the crowd... More

This cruise was recommend to us by a local. She said it would be perfect for our two year old as it's covered and big enough for a kid to run around on. Crew was fantastic. They lent us a kid chair and offered some beach toys for our toddler. They were so thoughtful and even asked if we needed... More

I am going to suggest that it may have been due to the weather as it was a bit rainy off and on. The positives: the area was beautiful, it was fun seeing the giant clams even though the water was a bit murky due to weather. Food served on their BBQ was great, fish and lots of fruit and... More

We were picked up from our resort by the boat and had a fabulous 6 hours on the lagoon. The staff were excellent, including demonstrations of local customs of opening coconuts, sarong tying, dancing, and some local folklore. The BBQ lunch was outstanding, including all local fayre, simply cooked, with tasty salads that were basic but very fresh - perfect.... More

We took our first Vaka Cruise as a young couple back in 1993, and we finally came back to Aitutaki with our two teenage boys in 2017. What can I say, the Aitutaki Lagoon is still one of the most spectacular places on earth, and The Vaka Cruise is the best and a most enjoyable day. The crew are great... More

We recently holidayed in the Cook Islands and took a day trip to Aitutaki and spent the day with the Vaka Cruise. The lagoon was stunning, beautiful location to snorkel with lots of sea life. Lovely buffet lunch and informative local knowledge. Would definately recommend.

A day trip to Aitutaki was excellent. The day was spent swimming, eating and snorkelling. The lagoon is a sight to see. Absolutely breathtaking. We had a great guide named Ali, who sang and told us wonderful stories. Awesome time!!

Their Sunset Cruise that they offer during the festive season is incredible! You head out around 5:30pm, cruise to One Foot Island, and then spend the evening there with music, swimming great company and then return to shore around 10pm. The blue LED's that illuminated the water around the canoe made for an exciting swim when the sun had gone... More
