Kia Orana
About
We invite you to book a Kia Orana morning or afternoon speedboat cruise (for up to 10 people) when you come to Aitutaki. Whether you are an individual or a couple, a wedding party, or a group of friends, cruising around the Lagoon and visiting One Foot Island, and Honeymoon Island is one of the most memorable things to do in the whole of the Pacific. We cruise to what we call "the seven wonders of paradise", and every island has something special to see and experience.

The entire trip was mesmerizing, we were picked up and joined a cruise with a family and one other couple, the lone captain Kisha ran the whole show from pick up, captaining the boat, educating all attendees, preparing our kai, and dropping us off at our accommodation.
We explored Motu Rakau and learned about the black mahogany tree and volcanic activity, and an area where there were no other tourists where we took amazing photos unspoiled by too many tourists, the sand and nature was the star!!
The medium size jet boat easily made its way between the small motu islands, and the snorkeling spots where we swam with HUGE friendly giant trevally, wrasse, red emperor, many smaller little fish the multicolored tropical fish were amazing!! We saw the Alexander shipwreck and giant clams!! The first snorkel was amazing, but the final snorkeling spot was the BEST!!!
We saw and heard the hundreds of tavake birds, and watched the kite boarders flying with the wind!
We planted a coconut and walked to the next motu thru the shallow water to our lunch spot, where we had the yummiest fresh salads, BBQ kai, bread, taro!!
Kisha was humble and genuine, his wisdom and willingness to share his knowledge and experience was friendly and professional with an easy island vibe. Thank you for your time and energy to share your paradise with us!! Meitaki ma'ata!!

We booked a last minute cruise with Kia Orana cruises and they were very accommodating especially with myself having a disability.
Captain Useless as he called Himself (must be hard living up to his father captain Fantastic) was always checking in and was a great guide for our boat.
We set off on a Sunday morning after being picked up from our accommodation and visited many Motu and stopped twice for snorkelling with a massive bbq feast cooked in between. Wow what a meal plenty for seconds/thirds if you could muster more!!
We loved our day out with great value for money we would happily go again.

We booked our tour through our hotel and Sean picked us up right on time and drove us to the boat. The boat takes up to 8 guests so was like your mate took you out on the water for the day. We visited several Islands and Sean explained the history and Legends behind them. We snorkeled in 2 locations, 1 had a sunken boat. The Trevally were huge and seemed to be waiting for us. We planted a coconut tree we'd found on a bigger island and planted them on a new formation. Pretty cool to think we've left something behind that will grow. Sean made us a banquet of local fruit and veggies and fresh tuna. Thanks Sean and Tiki for our best day.

The helpful woman at the I site booked this tour for us as it was the only one available on the day we wanted. What a fantastic bit of luck! I don't think we could have enjoyed any of the other tours on offer as much as we enjoyed the 6 magical hours we spent on this trip. Only 11 passengers, one loquacious and informative captain (who is also an excellent cook) and a lagoon full of wonders. We avoided the tourist crowds, planted coconuts to help establish a new atoll, ate a delicious lunch served entirely without plastic, and snorkelled in a wonder world. Unforgettable.

We had a wonderful day with Captain Fantastic, it's definitely the best tour out there. He has a small boat with max. ten people and gets to areas the larger boats are not able to access. As we departed at 9 am already, we had most of the islands completely for ourselves. Lunch was great. 100% recommended!

Thanks,

We took a lagoon trip with Captain Fantastic's team in January 2022. They were great. Different strokes for different folks, but this was perfect for us! Some tour operators focus on the journey with colourful entertainment along the way. I've heard only good things about that experience. But Captain Fantastic's tours are about getting you to these amazing places fast, allowing you more time snorkelling, exploring the motu, etc. We loved it.

We visited Aitutaki very recently and booked on Captain Fantastic's (Kia Orana) cruise. - Shaun was our driver. What a FANTASTIC day. There were 11 on our cruise and we were picked up on time from our hotel. A quick pick up to get the boat and we were on our way to some lovely islands ( some that the other cruises don't visit) and some amazing snorkelling. Snorkeling with giant trevellay Napoleon Wrasse and colourful fish, seeing giant clams and lovely coral , this trip had it all. We had a lovely lunch away from the crowds. Everything was provided - food, water, towels, snorkeling gear and a fun day.
Shaun was so helpful and patient all day.
Highly recommend this cruise over any of the bigger boats. They can’t get where we went because of their size,
Regards Selwyn and Dellis

I went on an exploratory trip in the boat with 3 others. We were picked up from our accommodation by Shaun, our boat driver, tour guide, cook, historian. We visited 7 Islands, sorted in shallow and deeper water. Shaun explained the different species we would recognize. Tiki, who was second in charge was polite, hardworking and has a beautiful smile. Shaun and Tiki treated us very well. Our experience was authentic, interesting, safe and enjoyable. A great way to spend a day. The food was fantastic. Shaun made it all himself. Real value for money. As a fledgling business, it would be great to see their family business supported.

Absolutely wonderful day out on the lagoon. Booked private charter. Very knowledgeable skipper took us to all the best places. Snorkelled with the giant trevally, over the wreck and giant clams. Even found a group of turtles....highly recommended and good value tour.
