What a great adventure. We drove on the Dalton over Atigun Pass through the Brooks mountains and was glad we had the chance to do it. It was an additional trip when we visited the Arctic circle and Coldfoot. 5 star all the way.
We had a chance to see the Brooks Range from the air while on a flight from Fairbanks to Utqiaġvik (Barrow). Most visitors don't get a chance to see the Brooks Range, but it is every bit as spectacular as the Alaska and Chugach Ranges...More

While visiting Coldfoot, Ak, to see the aurora, we took a tour to see Atigan Pass/Brooks Range. It is a very beautiful area, to say the least! Of course the road follows the Alaskan oil pipeline, and it adds interest to lots of photo ops....More

Hi and don't really know as my visit was in May and not the time of year to be searching and obeserving the Northern Lights. Sorry I can't help hoping others can help you from the TripAdvisor community. May I kindly suggest that you contact such organisations as the Alaska Visitors Bureau and perhaps Alaska Tour and Travel with your question as they may be able to help you.
Hope you enjoy Alaska as much as I did.
