About
Aboard our comfortable 4-wheel drive, climb the hills to fantastic viewpoints and cross the island to the wild tropical mountain forest. We make many stops to show and explain the traditional uses of the native plants indigenous or introduced during early Polynesian migrations. At a local vanilla plantation you will hear all about this fascinating orchid plant whose flower must be "married"... Moorings available for sailboats

What a fantastic tour! Noe' is well versed in island history, flora and all things Taha a'. He begins by showing his guests a map and makes many short stops. The open air vehicle is both comfortable and perfect for seeing the island. Noe' or Noah, is quick to point out the Kapok Tree (its soft fibers used for bedding and life vests), a rubber tree, elephant plants, sugar cane, female and male papaya trees (who knew there was a difference!), and takes you on a guided tour through a vanilla plantation and the hand-pollination technique used to create the high-maintenance pods! He also graciously takes you to his home gardens for there is much to learn and see, and possibly meet his parents! We traveled through quaint towns, saw local life, schools and stopped to grab a quick bite that did not break the bank. He thoughtfully prepares a cooler of water for his guests and even adds flowers to add color. Our tour was concluded by a stop at Taha'a Rhum Distillery, Pari Pari where local rum and oils were available for tour and purchase. Finally, Noah prepared a half dozen fresh fruits for us to sample at the end of our tour. He was warm and delightful and passionate about his beautiful island. A complete delight.

This was a top quality tour - very highly recommended. Noah conducted the tour in excellent idiomatic English, despite being francophone. He is very knowledgeable about the local geography and botany but we moved into many other areas, such as local society and customs etc. He imparted all his knowledge in a very engaging way and gave us full value for money.

When you check out tour books, they'll signal you to Alain's Vanilla Tour (most tour books are outdated)! Alain's farm is sadly closed and his son, Noé, has taken over the guiding.

Their hospitality was amazing; we were able to stay on their mooring ball the night before the tour, Alain drove us to a restaurant for dinner, and Noé accommodated all of our needs on the tour of the island. It's ethno-botanical, historical, delicious, and informative. He showed us everything from the distillery to the magic fern, introduced us to medicinal and crafty plants, had lemon water in the 4x4, made a quick post office stop so we could get stamps, and made the most beautiful spread of fruits at the end. By far the best way to see the island -- informative, easy, flexible, and beautiful.

Noah. Was the best….. so knowledgeable about everything on the island… stopped at the very best stops on the island. We have visited Tahaa twice and took his tour each time …. Provided a wonderful 4 hour tour of the best of the island.. Highly recommend taking his tour for groups of 2-to 8 people…..

Noah knew so much about the natural history of Taha’a and explained the ecosystems of the island as we toured around. Starting the tour in the garden of his family home was so interesting. How he and his family lived, the produce they grew and the uses of many plants to support health. The visit to an eco vanilla farm was fascinating and we now understand the necessary labour intensive farming which explains vanilla prices!
At all times on the tour Noah was helpful, this included a stop at the supermarket as none of us had use of a car, fruit stalls on the side of the road for fresh veggies and he happily answered all our questions on Polynesia life and culture. A definite highlight of our stay on Taha’a.

This tour is must do. Noe is a phenomenal guide with a wealth of information about the botanicals on the island of Taha’a. He shares information about he medicinal qualities of many of the plants. Learning about how the vanilla flower must by pollinated by hand was very interesting. Noe drives you all the way around the island stopping along the way to describe a plant or the scenery. He also takes you to a store to buy Tahitian vanilla and to a run distillery. For the half day tour we a beautifully displayed buffet of local fruits to enjoy. Noe is so friendly and personable. The tour isn’t rushed. His love of this island and its ecology is very evident. Everyone should experience this tour. Other tours will not compare.

Today we had our tour with Noah. We were unexpectedly surprised and so pleased with everything about his tour. He shared local knowledge, told us some history of the islands and we had a hands on tour of the vanilla plantation. We drove around the entire island. This was one of our highlights of our 2 week multi island vacation!! You don't want to miss this tour. The half day was perfect!! Thank you Noah!

Noah was a truly amazing guide. His enthusiasm and positive energy were contagious to everyone in our group of 8 adults. His knowledge of island - the plants, the people, and the history - were comprehensive The tour was great and he stopped at all the best places to learn or just grab that perfect picture. He spoke our language (english) and I heard him speak in at least 4 other languages to others at various stops!! He easily accommodated all our needs during the half day tour and exceeded our expectations for a great time. Don't forget to ask him about the family catamaran and it's racing history :-)

The Taha’a Vanilla and Botanical Garden tour is fantastic! Noah is knowledgeable, kind, and funny. His tour takes you around Taha’a, teaching you loads about organic vanilla farming, plants, flowers, Taha’a history and legends. It’s informative, fun and interactive. I highly recommend it!!!!

And if you come by boat he will provide a mooring and WiFi! Super fabulous opportunity to see the hidden gem of an island

Each Time I go Back to Tahaa, I never fail to do the vanilla tour. First with Alain and now with Noe. There is always so much to learn about the love story between Tahitian people and nature !
Professionalism, kindness and fun are always there.
I just love it
