We were told by a guide to do water excursions in Bora Bora and land excursions in Moorea. Having done a water excursion on a previous cruise visit we booked an island tour using Viator. We met the tour operator on the dock and were part of a 14 passenger tour group in an air conditioned van. Our driver/guide Angele was an older lady from Papeete who did her best to provide commentary in both English and French as there was one lady who spoke no English. I was embarrassed when a cruise passenger complained about the use of French. Angele was doing her best to keep everyone happy. The van drove around the island with photo stops while Angele explained about life on the island and the state of the tourist and hotel industry. She did her best to answer every questions. There were stops at a beach (with tiki statues), lookout over Sofitel Moorea with rooms over the water, Cook's Bay, pineapple plantation with liqueur tasting and Belvedere Point Lookout. Getting around with the van was easier than the full size motor coaches used for ship excursions and less expensive.

My wife and I wanted to see some of the inland views on Moorea. Our hotel arranged for a tour with Torea Nui Transports. We were the only couple, so we ended up with an incredible private tour. Tiko was our guide - he is incredibly knowledgeable about the island, seems to know everybody, and responsive to our interests and needs. The equipment (a side-by-side) was in good working order and seemed dependable. The route we took was a wide mix of surface roads, farm roads, and some trails. We climbed Belvedere Lookout, drive through pineapple farms, visited the National Agricultural park, and even had an eel encounter. We’d recommend this in a heartbeat - and ask for Tico.

Switched us from van to bus...too big..rushed us through the tour. Driving too fast to see any of the villages along the way. No content on this tour. Waste of time other then observing the beautiful island from the bus and the few worthless stops we made. Questions were answered reluctantly by the tour guide. His objective was to move us along so he could pick up another tour group from the cruise ship.
