One of the main sites to see in Moorea - an absolutely beautiful viewpoint where you can see both bays on either side of the mountain on the north side of the island. Even on a cloudy day, it's quite beautiful but of course it will be a better view on a sunny day! A lot of island tours stop here for a few minutes to take in the view, but you can also stay for a longer time and do several different hikes from here. Be sure to take a photo of the map (the backside shows the walking trails) and hire a guide if you're not an experienced hiker. The trails can be a bit confusing sometimes. Three coconuts is a steep climb at the end but absolutely worth it for the panoramic views when you eventually get to the top! Hiking here is slippery so wear good shoes and remember your bug spray - so many mosquitoes in the jungle. But again, absolutely worth it for the views! And you can buy a coconut from the vendor in the parking lot to rehydrate at the end.

We took an ATV tour that took us up to Belvedere Lookout. This view is absolutely breathtaking! There are huge mango and avocado trees, several hiking trails, great spots for taking photos, and lots of chickens! We went on a misty day in the offseason and so it wasn't too crowded. However, this area is quite small and I can imagine it is hectic during busier times of the year. This is a view not to be missed!

It’s a very easy drive to the overlook – it’s not at the top of the mountain. It’s 100% paved road with a few narrow spots but all were passable for two vehicles. They’re also in the process of widening it, so it can only get better for future visitors.
It’s a nice vantage point to see the mountains and valleys with the added bonus of fresh coconut water at the top.

We were dropped by beach by a cab, and we walked through the most beautiful fertile valley. Lush w cows and even little crabs along the sides..views of the mountains.. but ca s on this road are crazy.. construction workers , maybe people who live up here... we have found island drivers to be crazy . They don’t slow down so move over and stay alert. It’s a long gradual
Climb up a paved road through thick jungle. Good work out . We didn’t make it all the way to the top because we had a set time to meet the cab back at the beach.. which was a drag. We set out a bit too late and didn’t have a good sense of where we were going. The lower cooks trail may have been better. Concierge should’ve been better to explain time frames and goals for this but good work out and beautiful and we were happy to leave the resort and try some allow 3 hours( 1.5 up to top) ..if on foot but I think the electric bike would be fun. We saw a group of atvs also
Botanical gardens and magic mountain hikes( $2 o person for Thai one) also things to try near hilton that are shorter and offer great views.

A must see! We went through “Enjoy Mo’orea” tours and it was breathtaking. We went around 9am and it wasn’t busy. We were able to take some really great photos without the crowds so I would recommend going somewhat early. Definitely a sight to see when visiting Mo’orea.

The outlooks can be accessed via a safe and well maintained paved road. Best to access via a scooter or car as hike would be long and challenging. There are hiking trails at the top once you arrive. The view itself is great. Definitely visit while on the island.

Belvedere Lookout provides a scenic view of Opunohu Bay and Cook's Bay. A good location for taking photos of the islands and its mountains. At 240m elevation, access is via a narrow one lane road that twists and turns up the mountain. On cruise ship days you have to manoeuvre around the tour buses.

This is a great drive to get an appreciation for the topography of Moorea. I was told the north side of the volcano sank into the ocean, so the cone you see and the two bays on either side was the center of the volcano. The rock wall behind you is the remaining south side. This vista showcases it well. Not a good place to see sunset in March, the sun set behind the wall to the west.
A bonus is the Tahitian antiquities site on the way up. Very cool jungle walk through a number of ruins of villiage and agricultural sites. It is well signed in English. A great opportunity to see jungle and antiquities. Cooler in the jungle. Decent shoes required and a few stream crossings.

Beautiful view! We went to Belvedere Lookout as part of a 1/2 day 4x4 island exclusion. The view were amazing and we enjoyed learning about the history of the island from our tour guide. It was a bit buggy so I would pack some bug spray.

Beautiful lookout, easily accessible in a rental car. Once we got there and took pictures, we wanted to hike. There’s a large trail map, but be sure to look at the back if hiking because the front is for cycling. The back shows hiking routes, approximate times, and some points of interest. We took a picture of the map to take with us. The trails are marked with colors, but it’s not always obvious which direction to go. We just did a short 30 min out on one of the hikes and turned back, as we didn’t have time for the full hike. Definitely worth it though!
