Nice Tahitian history

Found this place as we were driving around the island of Moorea and enjoyed our visit. Many pieces of art and historical buildings to see. We were not able to stay for the show.

As there were only 12 English speaking people in our group of maybe 100, our tour through the village itself was limited. Seeing the opening of the underground oven was very interesting. The dinner was ok with alot of food, but for a cautious eater there was a limited safe choices. The pork that was roasted underground was delicious. Alcoholic... More

This excursion was suggested by our travel agent as it was close to the Intercontinental Resort. This was a fun night out to experience some of the local culture. Uncovering the ground oven was interesting to see and the fire dancing was exciting to watch. It was fun to experience this but I wouldn't go again if I went back.

We were picked up at our resort and taken to the village. There we saw several displays of art, examples of traditional dress and an absolute feast. After the meal was a show which they managed to incorporate some humor into demonstrating the different ways to tie/wear a traditional garment (pareu). Then came the big show with traditional dancers in... More

This is an entertainment venue, not a real village. We were picked up from our lodge (1000XPF / person) which was handy, though the minibus then took us all around the island calling at all the main resorts on the way to the venue. The evening programme starts with some talk about various aspects of Tahitian culture but our English... More

My wife & I decided to have dinner & watch the Tiki village show. It was great to see the village and learn about the island culture. The food was very good for the dinner that was provided. Lots of options and plenty of food to eat. The show was an excellent presentation of music, dancing, and entertainment. I highly... More

The positives: 1. Great restaurant view of spectacular beachfront blue waters; 2. Good food; 3. Try the Tiki drink, better than a Mai Tai and not watered down as much as other Tahitian and Moorean establishments. The negatives: 1. Told us we would get live lunchtime entertainment if we dined around 1 pm and they failed to provide. 2. Told... More

After seeing a tahitian show a few nights at our resort, we did check this out.. Now, being from the states, we didn't like the dinner options.. You will leave hungry and tired..because you get out so late.. The show wasn't bad, but if you don't book it, don't worry you're not missing much!

I didn't see anything special about this place. For the price they charge and what they offered, I would rather stay home and watch a Polynesian dance show on TV :) No offense..

We went here on our last night on Moorea Island. We were picked up from our hotel in a bus and driven to the village on the other side of the island. We were given a tour of the village and told a bit of it's history. We had paid for dinner and the show, but as French is the... More
