After visiting the very pretty garden, on Sunday only, typical Polynesian meal (reservation required) served between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Well-stocked plate with excellent value for money (2500F adult, 1500F child)

For us today: fafa chicken, pork stir-fry (pou'a), taro, cassava, raw fish, breadfruit with fermented coconut in a small pot, and a delicious banana compote (we have declined fermented fish, little players)

You have to be very hungry to finish it all!

All served with an excellent fresh pineapple smoothie (included in the price)

We added a homemade ice cream at 300F (very generous portion)

All this served with a smile, in a majestic setting, high up with an unstoppable view

In short, it’s a very good plan!

Important info: the access “road” is difficult with a non-raised vehicle (we had an SUV, no problem)

They also sell local vanilla, very good jams and some art objects

We had a few hours of sunshine before the rain rolled in and so glad we spent it here. We decided to park our rental car at the bottom and walk up per other user reviews and glad we did - the road is rough and steep. By the time we got to the garden, we were quite warm, and were warmly greeted by an older woman who we presumed was the owner. She provided us with samples of her homemade jellies/jams from fruit on her property. We opted for a few scoops of sorbet which were amazing, accompanied by a fantastic view.

The property itself is nothing glamorous, but very fun to see vanilla beans and other fruits growing. We also tried to find cascade waterfall and while there were some signs, the foliage is dense and we threw in the towel before we got lost. Did enjoy meandering along the creek.

The experience is free, so there is nothing to lose! Definitely not an all day activity but very pleasant to walk around, relax, and take in some sights different from the beach for an hour or two.

We visited this place on a cloudy/rainy day. Per previous reviews, we parked at the base of the hill and walked up because it was steep and rocky and we had a rental car that we weren’t sure would make it to the top. It’s a steep but short hike up, but there are beautiful fruits and flowers to admire along the way. We were rewarded with a beautiful view overlooking Oponohu Bay. At the top we checked out the vanilla greenhouse, the Sacred Eel pond, and had some beverages sold at the cafe, including a passionfruit pineapple juice and a pineapple milkshake. We also saw signs for a waterfall and ended up going on a 15 min hike through the woods to see that. We were hoping to eat at the cafe but they only serve lunch on Fridays and Saturdays so we made a reservation (the owner recommended this) and returned on Friday for lunch. The lunch was a great spread of local foods, a very filling meal at a reasonable price. They also sell jams made from local fruits that are quite good. this is a friendly, fun place to visit if you have a chance while in Moorea! Definitely worth the hike!

What a waste of time. States they are open till 4pm, we arrived at 3:15 to find that the store closes at 3. The whole reason for going was to get some vanilla and that concept was tossed out. Vanilla house was overgrown and in disarray. No noticeable tropical plants of any noteworthy mention. The view was beautiful but there are much better views on Moorea

My husband and I stumbled across this unique hillside garden. Our small rental car made it up with out a scratch......It is a very rocky and non-paved road to start. Then up a steep hill to a parking lot surrounded by lush trees and and small gift shop that serves ice-cream and lunch on the weekend. They do offer lodging as well. We were greeted by a young man the quickly whipped up a banana split for us to share ($10USA). We were able to explore the gardens and vanilla grow house. I do with the plants and trees were labeled so the my husband and I could have learned about the native growth. The view is most magnificent looking at the ocean from the deck at the shop.

Beautiful wee gardens and cafe at the top of a hill. Road up is not very well maintained, we got half way up in our small car and decided to go back down and park at the bottom. We watched many people trying to get up and stalling! Gardens small but beautiful. Would definitely recommend going to the cafe on a Friday or Saturday for lunch when they have their Polynesian menu - just delicious!

We have stopped here thinking we will just chill around their gardens (not big but since on the hill the views of the bay are amazing!) and thought maybe this is a place that offers smoothies like the ones on the bottom of a Magic Mountain? Guess what, they have a full blown restaurant serving some delicious foods!

Add to that the scenic views, a mini vanilla plantation (you can acquire also for cash separately vanilla beans similar to what is sold or Raiatea and Taha'a, though grown here on Moorea and actually almost the same prices), and pay for lunch with a credit card - what is here not to like? If you haven't been to a vanilla farm that this is your beast and cheapest way to do so to see how they are grown and possibly acquire the first hand product without going to the other islands.

Perhaps the drive up the hill, although paved it's very steep and narrow though from time to time there is an area to turn into (completely though as partially isn't wide enough for the 2 way traffic) - I say it's an absolute must while on Moorea!

This place has a fantastic view, and the cafe menu looked amazing but we already had plans to eat elsewhere. If ever back in Moorea, I would like to try the food here. The garden is quite small, but interesting to look at. The road up is narrow and steep.

I came here a few times during my stay on Moorea and really enjoyed it each time. They have a handful of picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy the view. You can also walk around and look at the beautiful gardens. There's a waterfall nearby that they said was a 15-minute walk or so, but it was too wet to do the walk the day I went. I really enjoyed taking in the views and seeing the beautiful plants and flowers here. You can also taste and purchase some delicious homemade jams! Oh, and fair warning - the road is steep and not well-paved so you definitely want a good car to get up there! Walking is doable but may be a bit tiring.

Came here on a tour and really enjoyed it. Our guide was very informative about the different plants and flowers. After we walked through the garden we got to try 4 different jams, which were all SO good. They also had sorbet and ice cream for purchase and it was by far the BEST sorbet and ice cream I’ve ever had. We tried vanilla ice cream and one of the sorbets that was made from the Tahiti flower and it blew us away. The view from where you try the jams is incredible. Highly recommend going even if it’s just for the ice cream.
