I booked the 12:30PM ziplining tour over the phone for my father, who is 79 years old and myself. Coming from San Jose, I anticipated a 40 minute drive to the canopy tour. Due to traffic delays, we did not arrive to Canopy Carpintera until 12:55PM. I called Canopy Carpintera and they informed me that there were no worries and they would wait for us. Our tour guides were Diego and Juan, I was so impressed and thrilled with the both of them. At my father's age, 79 years old, it is difficult for him to climb some of the 1000 steps up to start the tour. Diego and Juan provided him with a stick to assist with the hike, and then also helped him climb the steps after he grew tired. They were so helpful through the entire tour. One of the guides ziplined with my father on some of the more difficult lines. These two guides made all the difference in the world, ensured the safety for our group of 7, and pointed out several sloths we encountered during the tour. I have been on three different ziplining tours and this is the only one where you encounter sloths. The guides also answer any questions along the way and provided great conversation during the tour. The guides take photos with professional cameras of you throughout the tour and provide you with access to all the photos for $25 which we gladly accepted. What an amazing ziplining tour with an outstanding team of tour guides. Thank you, Diego and Juan!

I arrived 90 minutes early and enjoyed a delicious filet mignon at the Chirraca Steak House located on-site. When the tour started, we were given our disinfected equipment and headed up to the first platform. The 15-minute hike is a bit challenging if you are not used to the thinner air at 9,000' elevation. Just go at your own pace, and you will get there. Diego, Indi, Alejandro, and other guides were fabulous. They ensured we always had followed the safety guidelines. The staff made it a fun and exciting day. Eleven zip lines and two rappels make this an extraordinary value. I hope to return next time I am in Costa Rica.

So I wasn't expecting this to be as fun as it was, since it was a last-minute decision by me. The price was unbeatable and this was my first time in Costa Rica as well as my first time ziplining. I arrived to the location by taxi, which is not far from San Jose city center. I received a warm greeting from one of the friendly staff members and they kindly took my information to prepare for the excursion (by the way, many of them speak great English!). After a brief wait, me and the other people in my group were driven halfway up the mountain. The journey starts with a short briefing, issuing out equipment, and then a peaceful hike to the zipline point. The steps are well-placed and you can go as slowly or fast as you like. Upon reaching the top, the staff members assist you with donning your gear, and after another short brief, it's time to fly!!! The ziplining itself is AMAZING! Felt like there were between 10 or 15 lines, ranging from short platform hops to long zips with amazing views! We were pretty high up and the crew were phenomenal in their care, instructions, and assistance. They would even ride WITH some of the guests of required, for safety or reassurance. The was also some rappelling (steel your nerves!) and an area with a pretty, small waterfall that you could explore. It was a great half-day activity and I highly recommend making this your FIRST stop on a day out in San Jose!
