For lovers of foreign films this is a good entertainment find showing 16 films from 16th to 31st of July 2014. during various times. Film in native languge with spanish subtitles. This event was found in the monthly issue of www.gamcultural.com magazine found in many hotels so can know what is going on culturally. I was treated with great service, well kept theater lobby with all usual selection of treats, but the theater was staduimseating two level thing of comfort and beauty. The seats were spacious soft reclining with great view. Very nice place to enjoy a movie.

What a find! Beautiful art house cinema with super comfortable seats. It’s the first place we check when visiting San Jose, hoping there’ll be kid friendly films. We caught Isle of Dogs, when it came out, but unfortunately, the last couple of times, we were out of luck for kid films. Nice cafe next door, Kubrick Cafe, decked out with the directors film posters.

Very happy to get my art house fix in this wonderful cinema with super comfortable leather chairs. Love the Kubrick cafe next door too. My only comment, (and this applies to many Costa Rican establishments), is their overuse of air fresheners. Please stop using them! They’re highly toxic

This is a neat old school type theater with only a few movie options, but a great atmosphere. The lobby is beautiful, large and vibrant. (Even the graffiti on the walls leading up to the place are eye catching and cool)
There was quite a line for the 6pm showing since it’s not updated with assigned seats I’d recommend arriving early.
It’s a nice option for a Saturday night the coffee house connected to it has great pastries y cafe to munch on before the movie.

Whether it is a blockbuster, an obscure European indy film or an exposition, nothing quite matches going to Cine Magaly.
The entrance is super cool, hall is huge and the atmosphere is vibrant. It gives movies a different feel.
Only drawback is that there are no numbered seats. Be ready to attend early, lines go to the sidewalk.
Love the place!

I really love the idea to go watching older movies and movies from various countries at cine magaly. And to the surprise, it's damn cheap.
Just for the folks who may want to know, that cine magaly doesn't play latest movies. If you are looking for movies from various cultures and countries, then this is the place.

They don't show a lot of movies with vin diesel where things blow up, Magally is more of an art house with films from all over the world. It's best feature is the huge, curved screen reminiscent of CinemaScope. The experience is like the big theaters of the 70s, yet with a modern twist. The cafe serves quality food and beers which you can bring to the theater.

It was reopened with a new idea of presenting movies from international festivals, independent films and old movies. It is a great place to see movies that other wise you wouldnt have the chance to know.
