Six friends had a blast in Costa Rica. I booked Tico Rides with Louis. Not to be confused with the other company Tico Ride. Tico Rides was prompt and easy to get in touch with using the what’s App. I could chat with Louis and he was always quick to respond. We had Tico Rides pick us up at San Jose hotel and take us to Dominical. The driver took us to a fruit stand on the way as well as Jaco beach where we could have lunch or just a beer on the way. Comfortable Mercedes travel van, lots of space and large windows for site seeing. Tico Rides also picked us up in La Fortuna and brought us back to San Jose. Louis was very informative and stopped often to explain things we were seeing. He was fun and gave us a great tour back to San Jose. Stopped to let us shop etc. Price for the day was only $200 for six people. Very reasonable. I highly recommend Tico Rides. Very dependable, quick to respond, very accommodating and on time.

We did the border run from Dominical Costa Rica to Boquete Panama to extend our Visa’s for 90 days. Had a very good experience and Great time. Luis our driver and tour guide was very courteous and knowledgeable and accommodating. Spoke Great English. Rode in a air condition Mercedes Van. Very comfortable. Tico Rides also took care of our exit papers at the Costa Rican Border. Spent two nights in Boquete Panama at Serranía Hotel which was part of the Border Run package which was included in the price. With 2 breakfasts at the Hotel. Also Luis gave us a tour of Boquete Panama and the coffee fields above Boquete high in the mountains. I highly recommend Tico Rides. A Great tour and ride company in Costa Rica. I rate them A+.

Luis and Raphie are amazing. Tico rides helped us do our Visa run to Panama and everything went so smoothly. Raphie are driver was very helpful, kind and professional. If you need to do along drive to the airport, boarder of have some personal shopping g done, Tico Tours will take care of it for you. Thanks Tico Tours for helping make our trip stress free and awesome. Pura Vida!!!!

My wife and I went on a two-week birding adventure to Costa Rica with eight friends. Our friend designed the trip and hired Tico Rides and Luis Diego Araya as our transportation. Luis owns the company of four vans and drivers and he drove us for the entire trip. His English is excellent. Given the extensive amount of driving over mountainous, two-lane roads and through traffic-clogged San Jose, I was glad Luis was driving. He was smooth and unruffled throughout the trip. Each morning we arrived at the van to be greeted by Luis wiping it down. The interior was already spotlessly clean and ready for the day. We were always greeted with a smile and cheerful good morning.
During the day’s drive, Luis was always cognizant of our needs. He knew all the roadside restaurants and best places to get coffee. Throughout the drive each day, he would suddenly pull over to the side of the road and point out some bird we had not seen yet and then get us in position for binoculars and cameras. The only negative I found was that his camera took better photos than mine, but I rectified that problem when I returned home.
Along with being a great driver and bird spotter, Luis is a genuinely friendly guy with an easy-going manner about him 24/7. He had to leave us one day mid-trip to repair one of his other vans. He left at two in the morning and was back by early afternoon after having driven 500 kilometers. We weren’t going anywhere that day, but we still missed him not being with us as he quickly became part of our family adventure. I miss his grin showing me one of his bird photos. If we return to Costa Rica again, we will certainly hire Luis and Tico Rides.

Luis Araya was so knowledgable and professional and yet made it so much fun. I give him and his tour business a FIVE!! His transportation was so comfortable and both drivers Luis and Koko were safe drivers.

Tico Rides is the BEST way to travel in Costa Rica whether you are first-time visitors or have been there before. My husband and I have traveled to many places around the world on our own and with tour groups (including five Rick Steves' trips), and Tico Rides was one of the best experiences we have had. TIco Rides has several reliable drivers who have been with the company for a long time. The company has different-sized vehicles and, based on our experience with the van we traveled in, they are well-maintained and clean. Every morning when we went out to the van, it had been cleaned inside and out, and was gassed up and ready to go. Luis, the owner of Tico Rides, was our driver for the two weeks our group of ten traveled all over Costa Rica. Not only did he smoothly and safely navigate the mostly narrow, windy roads but he was also our interpreter, tour guide, bird spotter, culture and history teacher, entertainer (He is so personable and has a wonderful sense of humor), and friend. He went all out to make sure our experiences in his country were enjoyable. Without hesitation, I recommend Tico Rides to anyone going to Costa Rica. You will not be disappointed.

This was my fourth time in Costa Rica and second time with Luis Diego Araya from Tico Rides. We went to Quesada, La Fortuna, Jaco and Quepos in five days, all tailored to where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see. He is knowledgable, adaptable, reliable, efficient, professional, funny and really make sure his clients have the experience they are looking for. We saw things and went places we wouldn't have found on our own such a local, quiet beaches and tico restaurants. He organized hotel stay, transportation, and excursions (canopy tour, sunset cruise, crocodile river tour) for us. I first met Luis Diego in 2003 on a day tour. I have used his company on various 10-14 day tours ever since. He is professional, prompt and dependable in every way as a business owner. He is a fantastic driver/interpreter/tour guide and is friendly, funny, open and honest. If you are going to Costa Rica as a couple, friends and families, or bringing a group, I highly recommend hiring Tico Rides to explore Costa Rica. Luis and his team will take care of the stressful parts of traveling in a foreign country, like navigating the narrow, unmarked roads, helping to communicate with the Costa Ricans, and explaining the culture and sights you visit. He will point out things you never saw, work behind the scenes to make your vacation perfect, and make sure each person in your group is taken care of. If you decide to travel Costa Rica on your own, your holiday will only be half as wonderful as it could be with Luis Diego.

His name is Luis Diego Araya G (www.ticorides.com ( 506 ) 8827-7227) and he is positively the best guide, driver, cultural ambassador, and caretaker of his clients the world has ever known. Sue and I spent two weeks along with four other couples on a comprehensive birding tour of Costa Rica through all kinds of driving conditions, long hikes to find birds, flora and other fauna. Luis's business standards are at the highest level. His vehicles are spotless. His operation is first class. He taught us about Costa Rica, its foods, history, politics and economy. He is an avid naturalist who shares wonderful personal stories with humor and grace. I noticed that Luis manages his company with the same care to detail as with our group. Muchas gracias Luis

I wanted to write a personal note to tell you how much we appreciate Rafa and how he represents your company. From the moment we arrived 4 hours late because of American Airlines, through our lost luggage ordeal and into the week he made everything Pura Vida. I felt as if we had a family member watching over us as he helped with interpreting Spanish, teaching us the currency, making sure we were being taken care of on tours and more! He was prompt, courteous, professional and fun! We will be back and I will use Tico Rides with Rafa again.

My husband and I are traveling to San Jose May 8th. We arrive around 10:30 PM. interested in securing transportation to Hotel Presidente. Also we are interested in a day tour or two outside the city. We will be staying until May 14th. Please let me know if you could assist with these requests. Possible a trip to a volcano and a coffee plantation. Thank you very much.

My husband and I want to spend 2 nights. July 1 and 2 in San Jose. We would like to have Luis D. As a guide to show us tourist sites. We need to be at LIR for a 12:30 flight to Houston Texas on July 4. We thought maybe to spend July 3 in hotel near airport. We would like any suggestions. A private guide could be great.
