A softer and lush journey around Lake Cachi brings you to a real farming agricultural valley of Orisi with little village, small cottages, lush forest, peaceful views of the lake with paddle boarders, hidden gem of restaurants in coffee plantations, suspension bridges, ruined monasteries and serene convents. The other side of Costa Rican peaceful rural life once you leave San... More

We popped in for an overnight stay and were blown away by the beautiful valley. Flowering trees and big vistas. Super friendly village as well. Watch out for cyclists though

Find a taxi driver that has a nice car ( and speaks English if you don't speak Spanish) and tell him to head for the Orosi Valley. On your way stop and see the Basilica de la Virgin Negro en Cartago, perhaps visit Lancaster Gardens to see the splendid orchid and bromeliad gardens. In the valley you'll be able to... More

I only spent a day here, but if I'd had more time I can see it would be a great place to relax. There are lots of options for everything from a leisurely spa day to whitewater rafting.

Because all of the country is an expanse of valleys and look outs and everything is green and pretty, there isn't much separating Orosi from the rest of the land. Its quite pretty but if you have to make a special trip I don't think I would. You'll see pretty views everywhere.

This small but magnificent valley allows you to do a lot of different and wonderful activities. Located at about a 30 minute drive east from the city of Cartago the Orosi Valley has beautiful scenery provided by the lake and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy a trip through the coffee plantations, ride a boat on the lake or simply sabor Costa... More

Such a beautiful part of Costa Rica, and near to San Jose. The owner of Hostel Bekuo in San Jose took a group of us from the hostel one day to the natural, and very hidden, hot springs in the area. They are right on the river, and absolutely beautiful. We had to sneak on to a coffee plantation, and... More

We rafted and enjoyed the spa at don Jose. The Orosi offered class three rapids and some nice stretches for swimming. The spa provided a great massage and facial.

Charming area, typically Costa Rican, surrounded by mountains and coffee plantations as background to the Orosi River. It could not have been greener nor lovelier.
