Eric was a terrific tour guide with so much knowledge about everything Costa Rica -- from history to culture to food to science to wildlife. We learned so much on this tour, including about many things that were not necessarily about the tour. We really appreciated that Eric showed us the city of San Jose, warts and all. Not just the tourist places, but the streets that everyday citizens walk down every day. It was a fascinating few hours and we learned so much. Plus, we ate some delicious food and drank some incredible coffee in a random, hole-in-the-wall place that we would have never found without Eric. It was really great all the way around. Eric is a terrific guy with a real feel for hospitality and the tourism industry.

We were late as we got lost (left the map at the hotel, local sent us to PLAZA Central instead of CALLE Central etc etc) and I couldn't get my phone to work. We eventually got to the meeting place, chased after what looked like a tour group (wrong direction AGAIN) then got the kind shopkeeper at the meeting site to call the company headquarters in hopes we could catch up with the tour. Apparently the guide does not carry a cell phone (hard to believe) and the HQ guy only reluctantly gave us the usual itinerary so we could try to chase them down on our own. Another kind Tico took us to the first market and helped us look up and down the aisles, then the second market. I've done these kinds of tours a lot and I KNOW they don't move all that quickly. We went to the cathedral and waited until the 90 min mark of the tour, then gave up. so $76 for a LOT of running through San Jose on our own. We have had good experiences with Urban adventurses in other places so won't give up but will get a good phone # in case of problems!

Really enjoyed seeing the market and learning the use of traditional herbs. Seeing and hearing about the tradition of the masks was most interesting. Ernesto was a friendly and informative guide.

We had a great time. Learned a lot about San Jose and Heredia and a lot about coffee. Gladys was our guide for the non-coffee parts and she did an exceptional job. She was very nice and very knowledgeable. The duo that ran the coffee tour were hilarious and so talented. They really made the tour so much fun and helped us and the other people touring with us to get engaged and have a wonderful, unique experience. Can’t recommend it enough!
