To visit during the day

Dark at night, but great during the day, not a huge park but it is nice and peaceful place, very close to downtown.

not worth bothering with. The coach was late which meant everything was rushed and too noisy for being able to see anytihng

We were amazed at how many beautiful parks, really large parks, there are in San Jose, plenty of seats, lush gardens in some of them and trees to block out the sun, though it rained every day except for 3 days in our 33 days stay in Costa Rico

Many TripAdvisor reviews feature National Park as Costa Rica’s many rainforest natural preserves, which are called national parks. This is a city park, not a rainforest, much as Ellis Island in New York City is a national park but not like Yellowstone. The name of this small, paved square is Parque Nacional, or National Park. The main feature in Parque... More

Small park in the middle of the city with a large historic statue in the middle. Some of the trees look like they are over a hundred years old. Statue is the main attraction.

This the place where we usually wound up after a day in San Jose, great trees, with benches to relax under. Good historical statue in center. A pleasant breeze in late afternoon, and some interesting birds in the trees.

The beautiful animals are so interesting. The wildlife will even sit for your photos. Bring plenty of film and a great camera

This is a good place to "set a spell" after you've shopped in the numerous markets nearby. We noticed a police presence, as officers awakened those sleeping on park benches without incident. The park is located in front of the Holiday Inn, so it's easy to grab a cab here too.

We were led on the tour by Fausto our Caravan tour guide and had a delightful day in the park. He lead us on a two hour excursion of the park and its wildlife. He really knows his botany of Costa Rica and i would recommend you request him for any tours

We walked through this cute, little park after a visit to the 'Atlantico train station'. It was a nice rest stop to have some snacks before continuing with our walking through downtown San Jose. There are several interesting statues and nice benches to relax. Beautiful trees and shrubs and very clean.
