It's a fine place to go for a stroll and take some nice pictures. Walk the surrounding areas because there are other interesting buildings and architecture to take pictures from and enjoy watching the everyday lafe of Ticos...

These are fun to photograph, especially close-ups. They are life size and remarkable in their bronzed and weathered state. Costa Rican artist Fernando Calvo made this set of bronze statues entitled “Presentes.” They are Costa Rican campesinos or the country folk, the roots of Costa...More

The statues are superbly sculptures and are a real highlight of the area and worth a visit just for themselves.

It is nothing to make a special trip for, but it was part of our Free Tour. We took pictures if each other there.

The main attraction of the site is not the bank building but a sculpted group depicting Costa Rican people. Lovely display, worth turning away half a block from the main pedestrian area.

I think it's so fascinating that the Bank has chosen to display these wonderful bronzes of world worn poor Costa Ricans in its square. From the old men and woman and the mother and child these tug at your heart strings with the tough lives...More

Outside the central bank these statues were sold to the bank by the artist Calvo in 1985. You need to take note of the feet of the statues only two have shoes the elders. The bank is easy to find so worth a short stop...More

This Central Bank consists of two buildings - the older building and a rather ugly 1970/80’s monstrosity. In the Plaza between the two is a sculpture made up of a number of peasants in copper/ bronze.

Impressive building with the weathered little green men. Not far from the main square. Lots of people taking photos.
