Interesting butterfly area and some excellent pre Colombian artefacts including some outstanding stone tables. Easy to spend an absorbing 60-90 minutes here (in a city centre that is otherwise very limited as regards tourist attractions).

Definetly worth a visit if in San Jose. Its way longer than you think it is and crazy informative about the history and background of the Costa Rican people. The butterflies were beautiful and the view from the top is spectacular.
I think it's about USD$9... if you pay with USD and need change back, they give the change back in local currency...You can also pay in local currency but the entrance fee is higher for foreigners than locals...
