Ximena Esquivel Jewelry is an exclusive jewelry line that is named after its author. All the pieces are designed and handcrafted in Costa Rica. The designer uses sterling silver with stones from around the world for the creation of these pieces. The purpose is to create a jewel that is simple in its form, yet elegant and original. The pieces are inspired in costarican nature.

I saw Ximena's jewelry at the San Jose airport. I loved her chunky druzy rings and their neutral colors. I wrote her name down and vowed to find her store when I returned. I visited her Escazu store. I went with my mom, who is 74. My mom loves statement rings and she tried several rings on. None fit. I have thinner fingers; I wear a size 6.5, which is standard in the U.S. Few of her rings fit me. Ximena looks young. Perhaps her jewelry is designed for young ladies. But she would sell way more jewelry if her rings came in more sizes, even if the price is a little more because she uses more silver in the band. It is older ladies who have more money and want to spend it on this kind of jewelry. I left buying one lovely Labradorite ring and one pair of black-grey obsidian earrings. I would have bought more rings and my mom would have too if they fit. Sure, you can get rings resized, but few of us want to spend more money or take the time to do that. Ximena has lovely necklaces too. I would also invest in a better website that you can buy more easily from and add way more things to Etsy. Costa Ricans love Facebook, but it's not a big platform for advertising or sales elsewhere. Her prices are very reasonabl and her jewelry is lovely. But she could do so much more business by selling more items online and by recognizing that not everyone has a tiny finger.
