I honestly found this place to be a tourist trap. Being from Las Vegas, there was nothing that related to fine shopping here. It was all these small unimpressive stores with marked up prices. Quite frankly, we found a very boring and bland. We really weren't sure what we were doing there and it was a complete waste of time. The marina is just OK and not impressive when you're staying at a high-end resort with an incredible ocean view and jungle surrounding you.
The restaurants are OK. We went to run away grill because we wanted seafood. It was average. Despite that, we would not bother ever going back to this place and that's why I got three stars.

Fishing out of Marina Pez Vela has been exceptional. I’ve fished out of here five times both offshore and inshore and have always done well. The fishery is fantastic.
The facilities of the marina are top notch. Nice restaurant, good tackle shop and great docks.

This review is for FADs deli. What a great find! The owner Maria is exceptional and will treat you like a star. We fished a few days and took our catch to FADs to be vacuum packed and frozen. They did a great job at a fair price. My favorite fish is tuna but we did not catch any. When we returned to pick up our fish, we found that as a surprise Maria had included some of her own tuna among the fish I was sent home with! What a wonderful and kind thing to do.
We ordered wraps to take on the boat with us several days. The chicken wraps were amazing, but the Italian wrap OMG. My husband and I agree FADs Italian wrap is the best we have ever tasted.
Thank you FADs and Maria - we will be back!

Lots of excitement in the mornings as the fishermen and boats get ready to leave at 7 am. Very nice restaurants, restrooms, views and quick line to buy fishing license right by the restrooms. Free parking for fishermen.This ten year old marina couldn't be nicer.

We visited Quepos for three days. After checking in at the hotel we were looking for a refreshing drink.
By coincidence we have chosen to walk to Marina Pez Vela. When we entered this complex we couldn't believe what we saw. Everything was constructed and meant for the (mostly American) rich tourist. It felt like a fun park.
At the end we had a drink and a small bite at Double Hook bar inbetween loud and bragging fisherman.
Can just suggest to skip this place and walk a bit further to the main street of Quepos. Here you can find several nice crowded and cozy bars and restaurants with a local identity. In this way also the small local entrepreneurs can earn something from tourism and you will have the feeling that you are truly in Costa Rica.

We stayed in their 3 bedroom villa for 5 days and they have the best customer service possible. They make sure you have any thing you want. The balcony even has fans and lights a great view. If I'm ever there again I will stay there again for sure

There is a free parking garage if you want to visit this marina. It's nice however it's very 'tight' as far as room to manuever into parking spaces. The marina is pretty but nothing really special. We had assumed there would be more stores and shopping than what is actually there. What was there, including a couple of restaurants, were pretty pricey. We were going to eat there but decided against it. It was not crowded at all when we visited.

I love love love Marina Pez Vela. We took two charters out of there and we had coffee and lunch a few times. I liked it so much I posted a video of the place reviewing it on YOuTube entitled. “Marina Pez Vela, Costa Rica”. The stores, restaurants and the coffee house are prime venues. I highly recommend a walk around and lunch.

Marina is super clean and provides guarded security for unattended vehicles while fishing. The Marina also has shopping options and tours that can be booked as well. It’s a one stop shop. Convenient to both Manuel Antonio and Jaco.

I retired to nearby Playa Bejuco so I often go to Quepos. I bank shop and dine at the marina. The sunsets out across the marina are spectacular. If you visit Quepos, do visit the town for a flavor of Costa Rica daily life, but don't miss the marina!
