We were staying at an AirBNB on the same mountain at Sky Mountain Canopy and our host recommended it to us, and we are so glad we went. They are indeed open (the listing here says closed, but I think that was during the pandemic) and we were the only visitors there the morning we went. The instructors were clear and helpful with our family of 4 (including a 15 and 10 yo). And the views!!! I am not a heights person but I kept my eyes open the whole time, just soaking in the views---jungle, ocean, mountain, you get everything. And the lines are long...the 3rd (ocean views) and 6th (through what felt like a tunnel of trees) ones were my favorites! Definitely suggest going in the AM as there is a bit of a hike to the first platform and between the others, so it got pretty hot even though it was only 9am. I loved that this was not super touristy and more off the beaten path, and that we got such personalized attention. Highly recommend!!

wonderful canopy - great view - absolutely wonderful staff. once the canopy was over, the owner took us to a waterfall for a dip and served us fresh fruits - no attitude - just lots of fun!!!

What a fantastic trip. Pablo picked up from our cruise boat in the morning. We enjoyed the ride to the Zipline as we stopped to look at crocodiles under a bridge, there were dozens of crocs basking in the sun. We also stopped to look at palm oil plantations, banana plantations and a logging operation. When we got to the Zipline we had fresh mangoes and suited up. The Ziplines were the longest and best we have been on with awesome jungle views. On the way home he stopped at a beautiful beach town and enjoyed fresh ceviche for lunch. We also had time to cruise a few local shops. Pablo was a fantastic guide and answered a non-stop barrage of questions. A great ambassador for Costa Rica

My son ziplined down the cable and loved it. The property, entrance area is beautiful and everything looks well-maintained. It took us some time to find information about it and find its location since we did not book through a tour company as we stayed in Palo Seco beach and drove ourselves. So here is some info for people like us. They offer 3 tours: 8, 11am and 2pm. Strongly recommend the 8am as it gets very hot and you have to walk quite a bit. Also, the view is the clearest early in the morning. This is not the usual ziplining experience. With the exception of the first short ride in between the trees, you are always really high and above the trees. The views are amazing. The whole experience is about 90 mins long and there are small refreshments provided at the end in a amazing giant wooden gazebo. To get there, check out very detailed driving instructions from another post on Tripadvisor (Jaco:Tres Piscinas). Locals call them Las Pillas. The turn off for Sky Mountain is just before the turn off to Tres Piscinas, right around the corner of a little Super Henry grocery store. Then it is another maybe 2-3 kms on poor roads so make sure your car can take it. To get off the highway, turn off 2 kms before Parrita on road 609. There is a sign showing 2 kms distance to Parrita right on the intersection (if you are driving from Jaco). It is about 9 kms or so on an ok gravel road through palm farms. From Quepos, it is a turn off to Playon. It would make a perfect day trip to go ziplining at 8am and then follow by a few hours of dipping in Tres Piscinas (head back to main gravel road, turn left and turn left little further before little bridge). Then follow by a lunch/dinner at Pitos Que Comemos in Playa Banderas. Review for this restaurant and directions are on Tripadvisor and turn off is about 1-2 kms on the way back to Jaco once you join the highway again . It is about 1 km off the main highway. We could not find information about Sky Mountain so we went to Tres Piscinas first one day, did not notice turn off to ziplining even though we passed right by it and then made the same trip 2 days later. Both great activities if you are staying around Parrita or have a day to spare on the way to/from Quepos.

After finding Sky Mtn Canopy on TA, I booked a tour with 2 friends. Pablo picked us up at the port in Puntarenas from a cruise. The drive was long - 1.5 hours on highway and addt'l 30 minutes on dirt road - but the ziplines are great and the operators are friendly and careful about safety. We finished the day with a delicious lunch at the owners wife's beach restuarant. So happy we booked with Sky Mountain Canopy.

Once you get kitted out with a hard hat, harness, and gloves you take a leisurely gonadal ride to the top of the hill, this gives you a chance to enjoy the changes in the forest canopy and look for wildlife.
Once at the top you start with a short line and then progress to longer lines as you decend, with several of the interchange points on trees. When on the zip line I felt safe all the time, the staff ensured you always had one point of attachment, only one person on the line at a time and were very helpful. All of the staff spoke English on the day we were there.
The ziplines vary in length and the speed is proportionate to the slope and your weight, if you are less that 60 kg a bit of extra weight in a backpack will help momentum. You wizz across valleys but will not have time to think hey I'm over 10 storeys above the ground below as you will be having so much fun.
If you take a camera on the zipline take the small pocket size camera on a lanyard and leave the SLR on the bus/car, it great to have a photograph of your friends coming towards you.
A great adventure that I am glad I did.
The lunch served after the zipline was adequate, considering they were serving several bus loads. Great fun would do it again.

This was part of an excursion from a cruise ship. We walked through a rain forest on a nice trail. There were a lot of ants and other small critters. We were hoping for more animals like monkeys but didn't see any on this walk. The elevated walk ways are not for the faint of heart. They have mesh bottoms so you can see how high you are. They also bounce quite a lot while the whole group is walking across. For those with mobility issues, we had to walk up and down hills and over various things that partially covered the trail as well as many stairs. It was very hot and humid. Every was soaked. It was also very muddy in one part and everyone's shoes were covered in mud. It was pretty and interesting.

Simply amazing! We had a group of 6 and we thoroughly enjoyed the canopy tour! The zips were so amazing! The weather was perfect after a light sprinkling of rain to cool things down. Our favorite zip was the long zip upside down :)

Fantastic experience. You really do get a spectacular view of the lush forest. You are seated in a special seat and the zip line is so long - over 2 kilometers. That gives plenty of time for you to really enjoy the thrill of this zip line ride and fly over waterfalls and wonderful forest scenery. If you are in Puntarenas, Costa Rica you have got to do this.

Went here as part of our 7 in 1 all day tour with Ricky Ricardo Tours. Ricky took us here where we were turned over to a local guide who lead us through the canopy walk. Be warned there are many steep stairs so it is not suitable for those who have mobility problems. All in all it is an interesting walk in the forest.

My husband and I (my husband is 69, 230 lbs, but excellent health) will dock on the Norwegian Sun on February 27, 2018. We would like to know how to get to the Zipline center and how to return. We need to know the time to depart the ship, the transportation vehicle, the cost of the transportation to and from, and when we will arrive back at the ship. Please advise.
