Even though me and my friend had different ideas about what we wanted to do, Rodolfo was able to organize everything so that we were both happy. We took a boat to Sirena station with my friend going back the following day, me staying for another night and hiking to Los Patos.

I can only second what has been said in other reviews - Rodolfo is very knowledgeable, has a good feel for nature and animals and is genuinely caring about the well-being of his clients at the same time. His English is very good. For my hike to Los Patos he organized another guide for me, Evaristo, who had the same qualities, making sure I had the best experience.

Higly recommended.

The agency is the only one I found with clear pricing at their web pages, which is much easier when you are planning your trip and budget - the others send you prices upon request etc.

Thank you for your comments and for trusting us with your tour Customer happiness is our ultimate goal and we understand that the Corcovado tour is once in a life time thing for many people. It is special and we want to make it special for our clients. We are truly excited and proud of the nature we have here and want to share that from the bottom of our hearts whom ever decides to hike with us. It does happen sometimes that people within their travel group have different ideas how to explore the park and we do our best to find the best possible solution for everyone. I am so happy it worked out for you as it did. We also understand that Costa Rica is expensive and the tour is also pricey and we want to be clear and transparent so travelers can plan better their trip. I am happy to hear you valued that on our website. Thank you again for hiking with us. Pura Vida

We had the most amazing trekking experience through the Corcovado national park thanks to our guide Jenkins. We got picked up early morning to start a one day trek from Los Patros to the rangers station in Sirena where we spent two nights in total as on the third day we trekked to La Leona to return to Puerto Jimenez.

Being with Jenkins you could tell he really did love the jungle and his job. His enthusiasm was infectious and made us feel tremendously lucky to have him as our guide. His knowledge of the animals and birds was incredible and the stories he told with his fun sense of humour made our time together one to remember. We saw so many different animal and bird species and this is thanks to Jenkins’ incredible eyes and ears and of course knowing the jungle like the back of his hand. We would 100% recommend booking with Corcovado hiking tours.

Our guided hike into Sirena Station and the 3 night stay was the absolute highlight of our two week trip to Costa Rica. Our guide was Philip (sp?), who grew up in the Corcovado jungles before they were a NP. He was not only a fantastic guide who knew the jungle like the back of his hand, but the personal antidotal stories he told us really made what we were seeing and learning that much better. The hike was long and the stretches across the beach were grueling but our three kids (11, 13, 14) and husband rocked it and I somehow managed it too. We saw an insane amount of wildlife on our way, learned so much about the plants and trees and animals that live in the park, and saw some absolutely incredible scenery. The cherry on top was our puma sighting on the hike in. What a phenomenal experience to be so close to such a majestic cat! Philip made sure we were able to get as close as safely possible and get great viewing with his telescope. We spent a good amount of time there in absolute awe. The ranger station itself was a fun experience as well, the food was delicious and waking up to the howler monkey’s every morning was otherworldly. Philip helped make every day special with our shorter hikes (we loved seeing the mama and baby tapir on our early morning hike!), fantastic stories, and special moments like our time spent at the swimming hole. We opted for a boat ride out which I think our tired feet were all thankful for. I am so glad we booked this special experience with Corcovado Hiking Tours. Inka was fantastic to work with leading up to the trip, gave us some GF dining recommendations for our stay in Puerto Jiminez, and encouraged me when I started to doubt my ability to make the trek in. We met Rodolfo on the drive to the trailhead as well and he was wonderful. And of course, our amazing guide Philip really made the whole thing so memorable. Thank you thank you for this once in a lifetime experience!

Thank you for your feedback and kind words. We are happy to hear you and the family enjoyed your time in the park and thank you for bringing the family. It is so special to have children visit us here and to learn about the ecosystem and rainforest. Very precious. Traveling with kids takes a lot of planning and money and we appreciate you making this trip. We are here to help and make things as smooth as possible from the booking to yes all the way dietary recommendations. Our pleasure! we want to share the gems of this tiny town. And how exiting you got to see a Puma! - we do see them and they are still not the everyday check list! Lucky group with one of our great guides Felipe! Thanks again and Pura Vida!

This is off the beaten path and requires advanced planning and preparation!
We chose the 530am 2.5 hour boat ride option rather than the 2.5 hour vehicle option.
The whitecaps and 3-4 foot seas in a 23 foot boat loaded with 27 people was a bit tenuous to say the least. Boat captain has good skill and able to read the swells to prevent potential capsizing.
Once your close tot the park entrance beach you wade waist high to the shore.
Already soaked head to toe from being on the boat wading wasn't so bad :)

Unfortunately we didn’t see much of the wildlife. A few monkeys, was hoping to see some birds and other rainforest wildlife;. Unfortunately we didn’t; but hiking was nice; albeit I could do that closer to where we stayed in CR.
In hindsight it wasn’t worth the cost or 3 hour journey just to get to Puerto Jimenez, overnight stay, 2.5 hour boat ride for a 5 hour hike through the jungle, the return 2 hour boat ride and 3 hour journey back to our accommodations.

Thank you for hiking with us and thank you for your feedback ! Very true, Osa Peninsula and Puerto Jimenez seems like at the end of the world and definitely requires some planning. This part of Costa Rica is still very authentic, probably because of its isolation. Not even many locals have visited this part. We live in the mercy and abundance of the surrounding nature. The Pacific Ocean is wild and that is why we use only skillful, experienced captain that can take the challenge and keep everyone safe. The ocean is unpredictable so we will not know how the ride will be. Sometimes is smooth, sometimes not. This is nature. Usually the boat to Sirena 1h45 - 2h, maybe on your visit the ocean was just unnormally wild and took a longer time. We do recommend everyone to bring a rain poncho or at least a plastic bag to cover yourself and your valuables as it can rain or the ocean can spray. The lucky thing is, the water is warm as is the temperature. Being wet is uncomfortable for sure, yet glad to hear it wasn't too bad for you. As you visited us during the high season it is very likely that the boat will be full as also the national park's limited tickets are sold out. To experience less people, we recommend low season. The nature is wild. We cannot promise what you will see. We know how the animals move and do our best to spot them, but somedays they are just not there. According to National Geography, Corcovado is the best preserved rainforest on this planet and Osa Peninsula the most biodiverse place on the Earth. We do expect to see always something and feel that it is a magical place. Too bad that this could not meet your expectations. Yet, happy that Rodolfo's guiding and the hike compensated some of your expectations. Wish you took some nice memories from this tour with you! Pura Vida

This tour was hands down one of the most interesting and exciting things I've ever done on a vacation. We did the hike into Sirena from Puerto Jimenez, two nights at the station and then took a boat out to Drake's Bay. Our guide, Jenkins, was awesome. He was SO good at spotting critters even from extremely far away. We saw so many amazing creatures on this tours: Tapirs, anteaters, monkeys of all sorts, koatis, frogs, snakes, a spectacular variety of birds including toucans and macaws, alligators, the list goes on. The hike into Sirena is quite strenuous but is really beautiful. You alternate between hiking in the jungle and along the beach. I would highly recommend some good hiking sandals (e,g. Keens, etc) to change into for river crossings. You will need to carry a lot of water because it is very hot and humid and you will definitely be sweating. Once you make it to Sirena you can also rent rubber boots for days hike, which I would absolutely recommend as the trails around the station tend to be really muddy from the high traffic. The food at Sirena is quite tasty but beware that their breakfast is very expensive ($24/person). So if you're not usually too hungry in the morning bring enough granola bars, etc to tide you over until lunch. They also have towels there so you don't have to worry about packing your own.

Overall an amazing, amazing experience would do it all again in a heartbeat.

We went to Corcovado Nationalpark for two days and the trip was really worth it. Rodolfo is an amazing guide with utterly amazing skills and sees any kind of animals!

We entered the park by boat (which was a great recommendation from Rodolfo and Inka) and spent the first day hiking around the Ranger Station La Sirena.

On day two we hiked 20km back to Carate. The hike was really long and had some passages on the beach which were quite exhausting. Most of the time we were walking through the woods. It depends a lot of the weather you have on that day. We had luck and it was a bit cloudy but at the same time exhausting.

Rodolfo asked for the wishes we had and what kind of animals we wanted to see. With his amazing knowledge about nature and the animals behaviour we found a Tapir and even a Puma. Rodolfo was exerted about our well-being and let us drink our water but also motivated to walk.

We would absolutely recommend the trip with Corcovado Hiking Tours and enjoyed it a lot!

Thank you for your comments and thank you for trusting us! I am very happy to hear you enjoyed your tour with us and got to see a puma, which is quite rare in the national park. The hike on the beach is intense, but totally worth the sweat, and the best thing is that you have time and not under a rush. Thank you for choosing to hike with us! Pura Vida!

We came in spontanously, but somehow Inka arranged us to be on a tour the next day and managed transportation for our additional luggage as well. The whole trip was a great experience, our guide had a fantastic eye to spot hidden animals, but was still behaving very carefully with nature. He really sensitized all of us for the beauty and extraordinariness of the place. Thank you very much!

My review is with regard to the communication, not the tour because we didn't end up booking with this company.
When I contacted them for the first time, they replied very quickly. After this I have spent almost a month chasing them up to get answers and try to book the tour. At the end they didn't even replied anymore.
I can understand that you are running a small company and are not able to reply in the next 24h but come on guys, that is really unprofessional. I wasted a lot of time, whereas I received responses within 24h hours with the other tour companies in Puerto Jimenez. I advise people to shop around as it seems like there are more professional tours in Puerto Jimenez than the Corcovado Hiking tour.

Feels little bit unfair to leave a comment on a tour that you did not take. We are two people doing our best to accommodate all the request that we get. We also ask our clients to call us or whatsapp us, as often times we are in the park offering these amazing experiences to our clients. We work 24-7 and answer phone calls even from our bed. I wonder who all do that just to accommodate their clients? I apologize if your email got lost in the mail box. Just shows that we are humans too, and just to let you know, time is never wasted, it takes place in this eternity. Pura Vida

My wife and I did the 1 day trip to Sirena via boat from Puerto Jimenez. Our guide Carolina, was an excellent guide and person.
The first part of the day was spent on the main trails near the ranger station. We saw many birds and monkeys and Carolina was a great spotter, naturalist and teacher. She answered our questions with clarity and knowledge.
The highlight of the first half was viewing a squirrel! As Carolina explained how important this common critter was to the greater health of the forest, a tapir decided to stroll right by the group less than 10' away! What a gift to have such a close encounter with this tapir.
We had a small group who could handle more rugged trails at a faster pace. Carolina recognized this and let us decide as a group whether to push to an area a little further out for the second half of the day. We decided to visit a section of primary forest where the plants and trees changed dramatically. As we entered, the light got darker and the forest floor opened up with a different layout of groundcover. The trees were noticeably larger and there were a couple near 10' in diameter! Such an incredible experience!
I cannot say enough about CHT and our guide Carolina (pronounced care-o-leena:). Also want to say that Inka, who handled our online reservations, quickly responded to all my questions and was a pleasure to deal with.
The only problem is that we did not have time for the 3 day, 2 night Corcovado trip! Next time we will not make that mistake and will book all of our Osa adventures with CHT.

We booked the Leona tour for the day (12-15km), an easy hike with a decent amount of walk in the cloud forest and beach. We spent the full day with Rodolpho and he showed us the most beautiful part of Costa Rica. Rodolpho is very experienced, knows where to spot animals and unique nature. He knows the story of the Corcovado and promote the preservation of the nature. He is also very funny, speaks an amazing English & so relax 😎

We loved it and recommend a 300%
