My wife and I visited this site from Puerto Jimenez. We went there on rental bikes and it was a 45 minutes smooth ride.
We went around with the owner, German, who is very knowledgeable. He took over that site some 45 years ago, planting...More
One of my favorite tours l have taken in Costa Rica. The family that runs this is great, it’s informative and well paced. Learning about how chocolate was made was interesting and learning about the other plants in the property was also good. Definitely a...More
We did this chocolate tour with another couple from our hotel in Puerto Jimenez. We chose this particular chocolate tour because it is run by a local multi-generational family that use visionary practices in the stewardship of their land. The owner inherited the property a...More
German and his family were fantastic at teaching us all about his family’s ~50 acre farm. His daughter, Vanessa, helped guide us through the 7 step chocolate-making process. On the easy walk through the woods they also taught us about natural health remedies and indigenous...More

Wonderful Lear omg experience combined with quick lesson on chocolate making and a bonus cocoa...More

This tour definitely needs to be on your list of places to visit on the Osa Peninsula! German and his family were welcoming, helpful and amazing hosts! During the tour you are taken on a journey through their rainforest property. Along the way they teach...More
We went on this tour and learned so much about everything! Cacao and medicinal plants. I cannot recommend this place any higher. It is amazing. Our tour guide spoke perfect English (and Spanish too) and knew everything about every plant. We took a million videos...More

The length would depend, with our tour we ate lunch with the family. I got the impression that not everyone was offered that and it was a special arrangement with our resort and the farm. The length of our tour was about three hours. I would do things earlier in the day. It gets hot and sometimes rainy in the afternoon.

Get contact from Maria Murillo of Costa Rica Authentic who made ALL of my arrangements she loves the country, is bi-lingual and very reasonable.
