This tour was interesting, beautiful, and educational from beginning to end, and kept the interest and attention of all 9 of us throughout (ranging in age from 8 to 49)! The farm/tour is family owned and run and they are all personable, helpful, and fun! The tour began with an easy walk through the farm as they educated us on... More

We took this tour as a family not fully knowing what to expect. The tour is run by a family, on their property which is planted with various local timer, medicinal, and food crops. The daughter was wonderful at translating/ explaining things in English, and the whole family seemed genuine in their enjoyment of, and dedication to, the property. The... More

There are few trips like this Tour to Finca Raices (organized by Crocodile Bay Resort) that are available to tourists. Don German and his family have been running this sustainable farm of hundreds of acres for over 45 years and live almost entirely off of the farm. Don German inherited the land from his father and has witnessed and been... More

We visited on a tour whilst staying and fishing at crocodile bay. The family that run the farm are genuinely warm and friendly. We toured the whole farm and saw the huge variety if things grown there and had the opportunity to taste some interesting stuff! The chocolate is amazing and you have the opportunity to join in the process... More

This place is run by a family that has farmed chocolate for generations. They also run a real farm. The tour involves learning the whole process of making chocolate from seed pod/bean to the finished product. Plus you get to eat the chocolate which is yummy! There also also baby pigs, chicks, a tilapia farm where you can catch a... More

German, the owner of the farm, told us: "dirty hands, clean money." He was expressing his deep relationship to the land that he and his family have been farming for generations. You leave feeling like you have really made a connection with the Osa. The lunch is delightful and the chocolate (of course made in house) outstanding. They let you... More

This tour was so much more then just chocolate- we learned about Coaster Rican agriculture and farming as well as some general history. It's a very friendly family run farm.

Don German has a wonderful farm full of a variety of animals and plants. The highlight of this farm is of course the chocolate! The history of the plants and trees that are here is just one of the allures of coming to meet the wonderful people that cultivate this land. Learning how chocolate comes from a pod, to dried...
