We booked this trip in hopes of getting to have an activity filled vacation with some rest and relaxation mixed in, while experiencing a new setting. And we got all we could hope for and more. Costa Rica is beautiful and amazing on its own, but Peaks 'n Swells allowed our family to get an authentic experience while getting 5-star treatment, amazing food, great accommodations and we felt like we were taken in by the local town of Montezuma. After the surfing, yoga and fun activities, everyday was rewarding. The surf sessions were awesome, the local instructors genuinely cared about and improved our surf skills. The location, grounds and villas are as good or better than any resort you could book. Every aspect of the trip exceeded our expectations. No review will do it justice other than to say we have already booked next year and our entire family cannot wait to get back.

We searched long and hard for an adventurous getaway that we all could enjoy. Peaks and Swells exceeded all expectations. The compound is an oasis next to the beach with a fantastic pool, wonderful food, a wide array of wildlife meandering through. We were first-time surfers and with great instruction managed to be competent after the first couple of days. The yoga and the masseuse were also perfect (and necessary). Hillary and Ryan are fantastic hosts with a long history in the area, and the staff all tremendous. It felt like one big family at the end of the week. In order to return to the US we had to get COVID tests. The techs came right to the camp and results were returned the following day via email without a hitch. We expect to make this a regular destination. It is a very special place.

My Dad and I planned this trip pretty last minute and it surpassed any expectations we had. Everyone at Peaks 'n Swells is so friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is planned out for you and there's a perfect balance of scheduled activities and free time to relax and explore beautiful Montezuma. The camp itself is so serene and private and we could not speak more highly of the food. The kitchen staff really knows what they're doing and there was no shortage of fresh, delicious meals. The surf coaches are very invested in you and your progression and they customize their instruction to your skill/comfort level. My Dad and I both massively improved and are so grateful for this wonderful experience together. Our only complaint is that we didn't hear about Peaks 'n Swells sooner.

My husband I attend Peaks n Swells Surf and Yoga Camp this November. I was so impressed with the personalized surf lesson, Very delicious food, relaxing yoga and well needed massages. One of our Yoga sessions had a 'monkey show' going on yards away, it was such a delight.
On one of our last days, I saw baby turtles released into the ocean right near PNS camp.
The cool little town of Montezuma is only a 5min walk away. Great tacos at Hotel Montezuma.
Lau and the cook team made some of the best food, it was so fresh, delicious and healthy. Coconut fish, glory bowl and amazing dressings were some of our favorites. Everyday we had different local fruit and vegetables as well as yummy chicken or fish. I kept asking Lau to make a cook book!
The surf instructors were very patient and knowledgeable. The kitchen staff not only made wonderful food but they helped make sure the younger kids in the camp had the foods they need for their full active days. Hillary and Ryan made the trip run smoothly and were great hosts.
We highly recommend this camp, its great for individual surfers, couples, and families. This was one of my favorite active trips in a long time.

We had the trip of a lifetime!! This is the best place to travel to with or without kids. The friendly and amazing staff attend to your every need before you even ask. We’ve traveled all over the world and this was the best food, bar none we have ever had, anywhere!! The Lau’s are twin sisters who prepare the most beautiful, delicious, freshest creations imaginable!! It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy. The massages were out of this world in the most tranquil environment. We’ve been coming here for over 20 years and it keeps getting better every time we do! You leave and your heart is full and body rested.

Just completed a week at Peaks n Swells. The entire family (43,42,10,8) agreed it was the most fun family vacation we have taken. Adventure, great food, fantastic people and a perfect setting conspired to make this a memorable trip.
It is organized very well - you just show up ready to surf and they take care of the rest.
The accommodations were nice (not lux). Everything was neat, clean and organized. We stayed in a small A Frame right by the beach. The main room was air conditioned, the others had fans and outside of the middle of the day, were fine temperature wise.
Every meal was served family style and over-delivered in every way. Fantastic farm to table fare with interesting variety throughout the week. The fish served was as good as I have had anywhere.
The surfing was great - coaches were provided and everyone sorted by ability. We all improved dramatically.
Afternoons featured yoga, massage and kid adventures. It was a great daily rhythm.
The staff was fantastic. We enjoyed everyone and anything we needed was taken care of immediately. Getting handed a chilled coconut to drink from after walking out of the ocean is an experience I won't soon forget.
We will be back. Hard to imagine a better way to spend a week where everyone was so content.
The only negative is that returning to 'normal' life is a brutal transition.

Worth every penny! Owners and instructors were amazing. Both kids learned to surf and progressed throughout the week. The food was delicious. They even thought of adventures for kids in the afternoon to give parents time to relax or get a massage on site, although this dad went on all the adventures and had a great time. Already talking about returning. Wife also loved on-site yoga with the monkeys.

My husband and I have visited PNS three times now, once with all the fam and twice as a couple. It was an amazing experience each time (which is why we keep coming back). My favorite part of the camp is how organized and planned it all is so there is no confusion or chaos, but it is 100% relaxing. There is no stress involved and no hectic schedule to meet. There is as much or as little as you want to do. I feel like it's the perfect balance for a vacation of activity and rest. I love to be active and have fun and I also love to lounge and relax and there is plenty of both.
The food is amazing and so healthy that I can eat like I'm on vacation without any of the digestive upset or weight gain that sometimes happens with traveling and indulging. The staff are some of the loveliest people we have ever met and coming back time after time is like seeing family or friends. They will accommodate any need, whether it's dietary, medical, travel-related, comfort, or just a preference on surfing.
We had a really fun family adventure and also have enjoyed a romantic getaway for just the two of us at PNS. It has been some of our most favorite adventures and memories to date. Montezuma is quiet and quirky and off the beaten path. It takes a little more effort to get there but it's worth it to be out of the tourist traps.
The food is amazing and so healthy that I can eat like I'm on vacation without any of the digestive upset or weight gain that sometimes happens with traveling and indulging. The staff are some of the loveliest people we have ever met and coming back time after time is like seeing family or friends. Don’t hesitate - sign up now!!!! Our family of 5 had an incredibly memorable vacation with Peaks N’ Swells surf camp in Montezuma. From the serene accommodations, to the ridiculously fresh and amazing food, to competent and supportive surf instruction daily! To top it off, the owners Hillary, Ryan and sweet daughter Coco - make you feel like you are visiting friends with warm welcoming hospitality and attention to detail. We had the trip of a lifetime and we can confidently say we are a surfing family now!! We are grateful we found Peaks n’ Swells!

Our family of five needed to get away and push the reset button. Peaks and Swells was the most amazing place to do such a thing. Everyday, the meals were prepared with love (and need I say DELICIOUS), the daily adventures were so much fun for everyone, the yoga and massages were perfect, and most importantly, the surfing was exactly what we were all searching for. The surf instructors were knowledgeable, kind, and encouraging. Hillary and Ryan were always so welcoming. Thank you for sharing this amazing slice of heaven!
