There are not a lot of signs. Ask a few locals about where to park and where to begin. The falls are impressive and the water is refreshing. I suggest taking a swimming suit and cooling off in the water. I'm not too sure about climbing and jumping but people do it.

Bit of a tricky walk to get there including walking through shallow bits of the river, but a lovely view.

This was our first trip to a waterfall and really enjoyed it with my husband and 2 teenaged daughters. The hike was pretty moderate until we reached the point of the green stairs. I thought it led to more falls but it actually led up to the zip line. Personally, I wish I had not opted for this route --... More

Do not miss this hike if you are in Montezuma. The waterfall is amazing to see, smell, hear. The water is cool and refreshing so make sure you come with your bathing suit so you can dip in the water. A must see!

We took a family of 10 and did the zip line tour along with a dip in the higher water falls. We were able to dive into the water and swing from a fallen tree..The water was a little cold but felt great after a hike to the top and zip down...

We had fun hiking to the first pool. We were two families with kids from 3-11. It was challenging for the youngest kids, but we went slowly and made it. Wear sneakers and expect to get muddy and to swim at the end. Don't wear flip flops.

sweet water, jumping off the falls, walking up through the rainforest- definitely liked it! make sure you go there either barefoot or with some hiking boots kind of shoes, because the path is quite muddy and you will have to cross the stream at some point. (I went in rainy season, they told me the paths are quite dry in... More

The falls are pretty hard to get to on foot - wear sensible shoes! We also went a couple of days after a big storm, so I think the water must be muddier than normal. As a result the water gave me an ear infection. But the views are beautiful, and if you fancy doing something a bit different it's... More

Cheap to park at the base, but avoid anyone leading you up the trail, as they are going to ask for a pretty good sum of money at the end, when it is quite easy to traverse without having been. There's another natural pool above the main fall, that I recommend going up to as well. Beautiful spot !

I have to be honest and say it was tough physically with all the rocks as well as the mud to get to the waterfalls. We paid the 1 mil colones (2 USD) to have access to the swinging bridges that got us to the waterfalls quicker. To avoid the fee one could just climb rocks in. Either way you... More
