We hired a guide to take us on a private tour. This was the second reserve on our tour. It was a great place to visit for a few different reasons. We were able to spot six different types of birds before we even made...More
We went to the reserve based on reviews and were not disappointed. We booked a semi private tour but as it turns out we had Jorge all to ourselves. He is passionate and really knows his stuff. Jorge showed us lots of birds, flora and...More
We had a great experience at Curi Cancha with David. He spoke excellent English and had lots of patience for me as I practiced my Spanish. We were there to see the Quetzal and we saw both a female and a male. We would have...More
We will remember thia visit our whole life. We were offered to book a guide at the reception and we accepted, even if we had planned to walk alone. What a great decision! Our guide, David Madrigal, is a young naturalist guide, so passionate about...More

This was one of my favorite day and night hikes while in Monteverde. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly with good english, and the grounds were vibrant and teeming with cloud forest life. I definitely recommend taking a guided stroll through the reserve and seeing...More
We did a night walk with David and it was very interesting. Although it was raining pouring and therefore we did not see a lot of animals (we still saw few, including an armadillo), David made our tour worth going! He is very passionate about...More
Much enjoyed hiking all the trails of this reserve (about 2 hours); good mixture of habitats, one trail leads down to a creek, great views of deep forest areas, saw coatis, many birds, and butterflies.

I used Oscar who is listed and he set me up with an excellent person. He was listed under Travel Advisor. There are guides on site and also, there is the Chamber of Commerce in Monteverde, itself. Curi Cancha is fairly easy to walk around. There are huge tree type sticks that are available for help steady one. The difficult terrain for me was during the night walk at Monteverde. Really a bit rough as had a fractured ankle in 16 with a plate inserted.
