We took a taxi down to the drop off for this beach and then hiked down a trail maybe a half mile to the beach. The water was warm and this is a somewhat protected cove with no open ocean waves. There were kayaks for rent at $20 hour (might be able to bargain for a better rate) and even food stands. Nice little beach trip.

This was a beautiful beach but I would recommend closed toe shoes for the hike down to the beach (vey rocky) and water shoes for enjoying the water. There were a mixture of small rocks and very large bolder rocks in the water to navigate. Locals showed us where a clear path in the water was.

They charged 2000 to watch the car for the day.

At the beach there are chairs for rent, snorkels for $10 a day, kayaks and coconuts.

Worth an afternoon. Beautiful views.

Great spot, accessible by staying at Shana By the Beach or by parking alongside the road and walking the path down. We visited twice, the first day it was rough with lots of waves and high tide made for little seating. The second time we went, the tide was very low and the sand was beautiful. The water was calm with high visibility. The chairs/umbrellas are to rent only and they also have a small drink bar and music playing.

Was staying at a hotel nearby, beach is not a "hidden gem" crowded on weekends, catamarans come in outer water with snorkelers. Beach is ok, rocky in water on left side and right side when low tide. As most places there are unique small business people who meet you on the trail, guide you to chairs already set up in the best places for a fee, also 2000 colones to "watch your car"...(not really watching your car). An ok beach, go on an off day.

We visited this beach twice with our group of 14 people. We felt much safer swimming here than Playa Manuel Antonio. We rented chairs and they also offered drinks and some food. The 5 to 10 minute walk there is not bad at all. We did it in flip-flops but would be easier with other shoes. Beware of rocks while swimming. We took a taxi there which was not expensive and easier than driving. Your taxi driver will probably be agreeable to coming back at a set time. The other swimmable beach we went to was in the national park, which was beautiful. As we did not want to pay an entrance fee a second time we only visited that beach once, and instead chose this beach for a relaxing day with a swimming option. It is advisable to check the tide schedule as during high tide there is very little beach.

We spent a morning at Playa Beisanz. It is a bit of a hike from the road to the beach. We had brought our snorkel gear knowing the snorkeling might not be great. After a bit of exploration we found some marine life on the far left side when facing the sea. It would have been disappointing if we'd been expecting to see a lot but we knew from our research that we wouldn't see too many fish, coral, etc. It is a great spot for swimming as it's a very calm bay and we did enjoy our time there. We would recommend going early for a parking spot as well as chairs and umbrellas on the beach which we paid for. There are also refreshments available for sale.

The scenery is spectacular at this smallish tropical beach. It's perfect for families because the water is warm and very calm, like a lake. There are food, drink, kayaks, snorkels, chairs, umbrellas and more available. It doesn't seem to get very crowded. Starting in early afternoon there is lots of shade

Loved our time spent at this beach. We paid I think $10 to use the chair and umbrella which was so worth it.

There was a little bar set up and food too. The servers were very attentive which was a nice surprise since there were probably 20 groups spread out.

The bad thing is that It is rocky. Big rocks that you can’t see while you’re swimming.

The walk down to the beach was not bad at all. If it has been muddy that would be a different story.

This is a nice little beach. An easy walk from the Parador Hotel. I'd recommend not driving here if you can avoid it. Parking is basically non existent and there are people who will "watch your car" for a fee. So, walking is easier. The trail to the beach is a bit rugged but do-able in flip flops. There are people waiting at the beach to rent you chairs/umbrellas if you'd like. Also people selling drinks/snacks. The beach is small and not too crowded. The water is WARM and calm so swimming is easy here (no waves). Overall, it's a nice beach to spend a couple hours at.

Easily accessible from Shana by the Beach (where we stayed, gorgeous hotel). Nice walk down (easier in tennis than sandals however). Quaint private-ish beach. Kayaks for rent (we were quoted too high $35/hr and most online reviews were $20-25/hr, but let's support the tourism industry that struggled for so long - so who cares). I wouldn't recommend snorkeling, you aren't going to see much. Swimming was nice and the rock formations are pretty.
