Playa Beisanz isn't the easiest to get to and there is quite a slippy descent to the beach from the road especially after rain. Nowadays there are a couple of vendors offering sun loungers and umbrellas, a pop-up bar and kayaks and paddle boards to...More

I had great time at this beach. I was everyday there during my stay at the Shana Hotel as I had direct access from my room to the path. This is a real paradise. Relax and peace ,yeah.

We stayed at the Shana hotel which had a direct access to this hidden paradise. This is the greatest place in Costa Rica. You can not imagine how beautiful and peaceful. Pura vida.

You enter from the road down a hiking path to the beach. The path can be slippery- but the views are gorgeous if you can look up! The beach is medium sized and gives the sparse crowd space to have their own room. They have...More

This is a very nice secluded beach with warm, soothing waters. Take this advice, though. Go to the Shana hotel and walk to the beach from their location. The other recommedned foot path is an adventure.

Beach is clean and water calm. Be sure to check tide schedule as the beach disappears at high tide. Loved the service of drinks delivered to your chair. Best to arrange for cab ride there. It is a bit of a hike from road to...More

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and were suggested this beach closest to our resort. We felt a but mislead as we were told it was walking distance. A few minutes ride from the golf cart, then a 10 minute walk down a...More

Really nice simple little beach - don't expect great facilities (no toilets and just a few people with cool boxes of refreshments), but worth a little time if you want to swim and don't fancy the bigger beaches. Chairs, shades, kayaks and SUPs can all...More

This is a hidden gem. There were hardly any tourists. You could rent two lounge chairs and an umbrella for the day for $5 US - a much better deal than $5 US per chair at other beaches in the area. It is very remote,...More

Beautiful beaches and laid back tourists! Its a great place to catch some rays and enjoy the beach! There are many activities around from boating, parasailing, and whale watching tours!

Not the best for viewing sunsets as others have said. Plus there are no restaurants or bars within walking distance of this beach. This is a cover that you hike down to and it is surrounded by rocks at the bottom. The vendor... More

Shana hotel is lovely and Biesanz beach is an easy walk from the hotel -5-10 minutes at most. It is s beautiful quite beach, perfect with a baby. Getting up to the main road is much more difficult.

Playa Biesanz transport (2 Replies)
I couldnt find any current info about this anywhere so hoping someone local can assist. We love going to Playa Biesanz a couple times when we visit and have always walked. Crazy I know. However, I have seen a bus or heard of people riding a bus. It doesnt seem to be a regular bus route as I have never gone down that road when riding the bus. Is there a certain day, time, or location to get on the bus to get a ride down and back for Playa Biesanz? I realize this may not run anymore and...More

OMG.....relax......lol......with your plans......there is no need to stay in MA more than one night.....you'll just be driving every day......a long way......and you'll be tired at night.......it looks like you have some very specific and unique tours that you want to do......(quetzales and Cano Island)......if these are a must.....stay somewhere further south.....if you want to stay in MA.....for a 3 night stay......then drop at least one of those two other excursions.....or you will have no...More
