Our Nature Guide was Great. We would have not seen the animals without his expert guide. The swim in the ocean at the end was amazing. Stay as long as you can or come back to do it again if you have time

We were able to book last minute via Whatsapp, inspired after having such a great experience with a guide in Corcovado. Manuel responded quickly and had space (though may not always be able to accommodate during busy times). He gave a discount for paying cash....More

Fellow travelers, please don't spend more than $55 on this type of tour. I spent $89 per person based on the reviews that the tours consisted of small groups, wrong! There are plenty of tour guides out there that offer less than $60. The only...More

Q's for those who've flied Sansa/Nature Air!! (6 Replies)
Sorry! I forgot to ask this question in my last post..eek I'm trying to fly from Manuel Antonion to San Jose on the day I leave for the states. Sansa or Nature Air? Both okay? Any comments about those airlines? Sansa has the times that I want... My flight from San Jose to Los Angeles is at 6:15 pm. If I fly out of Manuel Antonio/Quepos at 3:20 and arrive in SJO at 3:45, will that be enough time to catch my flight at 6:15? In the states, that would be plenty of time to catch an...More

I would take the earlier flight. Doesn't really matter which one. Sansa is the most convenenient as it is right next door to the airport. Nature Air is about a 30 minute drive. 3hrs is the recommended time by the airport to allow. Hectic depends on how many flights are leaving at that time. When there are several it can be very hectic. Other times we zip right through. Keep in mind that you need to get in line to pay your departure tax , then get in another line to check in, then get in...More
transportation Manuel to Golfito (1 Replies)
Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for getting from Manuel Antonio to Golfito and back? We are staying in MA for 2 weeks, as our home base, but want to view some property at Golfito for a day or 2. Thanks Cory

Depending on the time of year, Nature Air has a flight from MA to Palmar Sur and sometimes it passes on to Golfito. You would have to speak with one of their reps, as it is very sporatic. Other than that, you really will have to consider a charter (taxi aereo, paradise air, costa sol) to fly direct. Otherwise, rent a 4wd, buckle up and set out for an adventurous road trip. There are some beautiful parts to see for sure (the drive around the Golfo Dulce is gorgeous), but other parts will knock...More

Caribbean coast of Costa Rica (9 Replies)
I read so much about Tamarinda and the area around there and Manuel Antonito both on the Pacific side. Is the Caribbean side not nice or not a great place to visit or unsafe? Just curious and trying to decide what beaches to visit and towns to stay in.

Very different areas. Some people love the Caribbean side some don't. One of the most striking differences is the Caribbean is not nearly as developed as many other areas. Many people who love the area love this aspect. The Caribbean side also has a very strong island influence. This is also very different to the Pacific coast. And then you have weather, the dry season on the Caribbean is during the worst of the rains for much of the country (September. October). Is one coast better...More
