Blue Clay Avatar Waterfall Experience

Let's explore one of Costa Rica’s best kept waterfall secrets. This tour begins with a very scenic drive along the coastline. Upon arrival, our short hike down to the river begins! As soon as we will enter the canyon you will come to face with a majestic 150-foot waterfall. We will guide you to the many different features Eco Chontales has to offer - multiple calm swimming holes, areas perfect for taking photos, a mini waterslide & even places to jump from! There is a small jump (6 feet), but also a larger one for the thrill-seeker - 9 meter (28 feet +/-)!
After we have explored all the features of the waterfall, we will create a mini on the spot-spa and turn into Avatars. We will apply mineral rich naturally colored blue clay on our bodies. This “rainforest clay” we provide is sourced near fresh spring water and is renowned for its healthy skin care properties.
To finalize our experience, we will get to enjoy a delicious, freshly cooked Costa Rican meal at the river restaurant.

Today was the day after my birthday. I treated myself to the ocean paddleboard tour of the Paddle9 Manuel Antonio coastline adventure and had a truly wonderful experience. I was the only customer due to the CoViD 19 pandemic, and was concerned my guide would have to spend his time and energy for only me... "Oh no, you're going to take out only one guy, I can reschedule when you get more clients!" My guide answered "of course for one person, and I'm happy to do it!" The day was partly sunny and we were the only ones to be on the water, like having that piece of the Pacific with brown Pelicans and Frigate Birds watching us paddle our way out to the moving waters. Cliffs, islands, birds, sky, rocky shorelines, and a great experience with Matty giving you details about the skills needed to stay on top of your board and get an incredible workout. The safety was a top priority, and I felt well schooled. I live here in Manuel Antonio, and for locals or tourists who enjoy the scenery and adventure of a water board tour, this is for you. I had a wonderful birthday and treated myself smartly to this fun and healthy adventure. From my door-to-ocean, water, snacks, pictures, and back home again, I was in good hands.

I felt as with many Costa Rica tours it was overpriced. I did think it was allot of fun, well organized and for the most part safety conscious. Our tour guide was full of energy and enthusiasm. * I think you need to book a day the tide is out in the late morning to enjoy the caves & beach better, otherwise the tour should do something else at that time. * I believe at the biggest waterfall it would be much wiser to just let the people go down the “waterfall slide” only and NOT allow jumping off the cliff; it’s an major accident waiting to happen and almost did! Take your camera with you so you can get photos, they try to have you not take it as they have a photographer that does photos at a cost; this I felt was a big inconvenience at times.

Honestly, this tour ended up being so much more than we expected. We are a young couple and were looking for some exciting activities and this one topped the list. Jumping from 3 different waterfalls, playing in sea caves and eating lunch at a farm to table restaurant...what else could you want?! Everything was on time, the guides were amazing and made us feel safe while having fun the whole time. You can tell they love what they do and it really shows. You can buy pictures at the end (around $15 USD) from the professional photographer. I would recommend this option as bringing your phone isn’t easy and it’s risky of it getting lost in the water etc. Be in the moment and pay for the photos, they are well worth it! We even got to look through all our photos first before buying them. We paid and got the photos within 20 minutes and there are 102 photos just of us! So awesome...I can not recommend this company enough!
