8 exciting ziplines with walking and climbing in between, lots of narrow rope bridges and mini-hikes, all among gorgeous jungle scenery. The highlight is one extremely long zipline, flying high above the canopy for what feels like several minutes. Afterwards there’s a pretty good tipico lunch at the base camp and review of the photos which you can buy for $17.

The guides were okay, very safety conscious which is very important, but less attuned to clients’ needs and interests than I’ve usually experienced in Costa Rica. They were joke-y young guys, friendly but a bit impatient to get us through the course. (The trip took almost an hour less than advertised.) Enoch was more customer-focused than Juan, gave more nature explanations. He did a great job of taking photographs.

I had 2 conversations with Juan that left a bad taste in my mouth. He called guys “my friend” and called us women “sweetie” which I told him I didn’t like to be called; I suggested “senora” which he scoffed at. Later on the walk back I brought it up again, said “sweetie” is for young girls or novias, but disrespectful to grown women (I’m probably 3x his age); I suggested that his nice “my friend” would be good for women too. He argued back that women like to be called “sweetie,” which I’m sure some do, but it seemed absurd that he would argue that point so vociferously when a woman who dislikes it was standing right in front of him! My overall thought about Juan was wondering if he belongs in a customer service occupation when customers seem to annoy him.

Overall it was a fun thrill ride and a lovely morning in the jungle.

Dear Betsy LW from Antigua Guatemala, Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback regarding our tour and staff. We are happy that you had a “lovely morning in the jungle.” We take customer feedback very seriously and are always looking for areas that we can provide a better experience. Like you, we are self employed business owners and are continually looking for opportunities to improve our customer experience. As you noted, safety is a top priority for us and creating an environment where our guests can enjoy the adventure runs a very close second. Obviously, we failed you on the 2nd priority and for that we apologize. Once you stated your aversion to being called “sweetie” we should have honored your request. We have already chatted with our staff regarding your “guide issue.” As readers of our reviews will note, a huge number or our reviews praise our staff. As a point of fact, several of the reviews immediately preceding yours gave Juan some individual shout-outs and accolades. I met Juan on his 16th birthday when he moved to Costa Rica from Colombia. He didn’t speak a word of English and he had never worked in the tourist industry. Juan was on our original construction crew and helped us build the course. During that process, we learned a tremendous amount about his work ethic, integrity, and teach-ability. Enough so that we hired him as one of our first full time guides. Not only are our guides required to work with thousands of personalities each year, but they are responsible for everyone’s safety, well-being, and the fun factor of every guest. They are trained in first aid, CPR, rescue, and the school of hard knocks. Is it possible that Juan had an off day? Sure. Does that mean that he doesn’t belong in customer service? We don't believe so. We all learn from every experience, good and bad. While we have some very important rules, policies, and non-negotiable items for our staff, we don’t dictate personality or a healthy portion of individuality. While we have one of the longest twin zip lines in the World, we know that it is our staff that makes us stand out the most. We will continue to strive for excellence in all areas and we truly apologize that your day was tainted by your interaction with our guide. In closing, we want to clarify a couple of items. 1) We have 10 total zip lines and 2) We do offer a photo special on the day of the tour and the price is dependent on the number of people in the reservation. Wishing you safe travels and happy adventuring, Scott Thompson Owner/Operator El Santuario Canopy Adventure

My husband, our 5 year old son and I, zip lined in the beginning of the year. We had the most incredible experience. My husband and I have zip lined in another part of Costa Rica in the past, and this experience was just as good.

However, what made this experience amazing is that when our 5 year old flat out refused to go, even rame tandem with a guide (he was terrified), Diego - the manager and guide, talked to him for a good 20 minutes, showed him videos, calmed him down. My son was still apprehensive to try, but he did try, and then ended up doing all the lines, attached to Diego. We couldn’t believe how much patience Diego had, there were about 30 other people there, but he took the time to make sure my son got to try it, and talked him into doing the entire route.

Extremely impressed with the service!

In general, every single person was super nice.

On a separate note, my son has a lot allergies, but he was able to eat the meal that was provided, it has none of the top 10 allergens. I’m vegetarian and also had a meal option. All of us devoured our food.

Awesome experience!

I participated in the zip line tour with my son and his girlfriend. I have to admit that I am not into this kind of thing, I much prefer to structure my adventures independently. That being said, I was impressed by El Santuario's professionalism and leadership. I guide kayak tours in Lake Superior's Apostle Islands and know how important safety is. I appreciated the staff's focus on safety from the initial introduction through continued commitment to safety procedures and protocols, all this without forgetting to keep it fun and educational. In addition, they are selling the photos taken by staff for a very fair price. If you're doing a zip line adventure in the Quepos area, I recommend El Sanutario Canopy adventure tour without reservations.

We had originally booked zip lining with another company, but after reading the reviews here about El Santuario we switched and I’m so glad we did! Hector and his team were amazing and the extra safety measures really helped me enjoy the experience. Our kids are 6 and 8 and they had no fear because they felt really comfortable. It was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Fun and enthusiastic group of guides who kept us engaged and loose and made sure we had the best zip lining experience ever. The best part of this was the same group of guides traveled from platform to platform and stayed with the group. Excellent lunch at the end of the trip was refreshing - my ten year old wanted us to say that this was “amazingly excellent”. The 4300 feet zip line was too long for our 10 year old, the guide made sure she felt safe and reassured. All in all, the best zip line experience we ever had , couldn’t have asked for a better group of guides.

El Santuario was amazing. First, you get 12 zips - a huge variety of speed and length and views. Second, the team is a ton of fun - they told us all about the nature we were seeing, kept us laughing and of course made sure we were safe. Our group had an awesome time. Highly recommend.

My family visited Manuel Antonio for a trip recently and one of our favorite excursions was zip lining with El Santuario's Canopy Adventure Tour. We cannot recommend this venue more highly due to the variety and excitement of this course as well as the most engaged, fun, and professional tour guides one could hope for!! Our zip lining guides were Joseph, Marco, Johan, George, and Alexis. These guides not only made us feel safe during this thrilling adventure, but their wonderful sense of humor, fun spirit, and knowledge of the wildlife and terrain made the entire experience all that more enjoyable and fulfilling! In addition, the zip lining course was amazing and beautiful...gorgeous hanging bridges, high platforms, and views of the canopy with a challenging and exhilarating course. At the end of this fantastic adventure with our amazing tour guides, we enjoyed a delicious Costa Rican meal prepared by Mama Roxana and Laura. We highly recommend El Santuario's Canopy Adventure Tour--we are confident that this is the best zip lining tour with the most competent and wonderful staff in all of Costa Rica!

We did the 10 in 1 tour and had a great time! We had 4 in our group. Jesse drove us from the Jungle Vista hotel to the start of the adventure in the mountains outside of Quepos. From there we got our gear on and started ziplining with Tony, Antonio, and Bernal. They did a great job making sure we were always safe and they were knowledgeable about the area.

The whole tour was really well organised, prompt pick up and good organisation for sorting the equipment. All the staff were really fun and friendly for the duration of the tour. Although there were a lot of people booked in for the 10.00 slot we were split into 2 groups so there wasn't too much hanging around at each of the stations - even if we were waiting I was enjoying the views and even some of the time the monkeys!
The food at the end whilst welcome due to the duration out on the lines was fine but nothng special.

Had the best time ziplining! I have gone before but this experience was amazing. There were ten lines we did which needed a hike between each one so bring best walking/ hiking shoes. You had the option to go upside down and can do twin line on the longest line. I went with my fiancé and we both had a great time. The whole crew made the experience great and they’re funny and informative, they love their job. The whole trip was very safe and they look out for you. Included typical Costa rican lunch which was delicious!Would recommend the tour to all to experience some adrenaline.
