Luis was a wonderful guide. Full of energy and just as excited as we were. He used his lens for us to take amazing photos on our phone. We highly recommend his guidance as we would not have seen nearly anything without his attention and expertise. Keep in mind you must purchase park tickets separately. Overall an amazing experience, the beach at the end is breathtaking!

What a wonderful day exploring Manuel Antonio National Park. Some tips: Park right outside the entrance at Don Chalot's parking lot and have breakfast at Donde Alex. Edwin met us right at the entrance and it was all smooth sailing. He has extensive knowledge of the animal species that inhabit the park. I really think its magic. He can spot animals at such a ridiculous distance. We saw sloths, lizards, snakes, bats, frogs etc. He takes photos with a super deluxe zoom attached to an iPhone. Other guides looked to him for inspiration. At the end (about 2 1/2 hrs) he left us to swim on a picture perfect beach. No monkeys stealing our stuff because since covid there are less people on the beach. Masks are required at the entrance but not on the walking tour. I would highly recommend hiring a guide or it just might be a stroll to the beach.

Edwin was a funny, knowledgeable and talented guide who helped us to see so many animals and also taught us so much about the park which they live in! He's a great character and uses his knowledge and connections with other guides in order to maximise your tour experience! Highly recommended for any future tours!

We booked a private tour with Edwin's tours based on the great reviews online, and we were glad we did! Our tour guide was MOP and he was fantastic! He was a wealth of knowledge and had eyes like a hawk! If you want to tour Manuel Antonio park, you MUST book a guide - had we just walked through the park on our own, we wouldn't have seen any of the sloths or the small lizards, birds, and insects MOP showed us. MOP carried a huge spotting scope and he would see a slot up high and set up his scope so we could see it. He was also an expert at taking photos and videos for us through his scope, which was a great treat so we could show friends back home our amazing sloth sighting. In just a couple of hours we saw 7 sloths, dozens of Capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, and many insects and reptiles.

I would also HIGHLY recommend a private tour. The cost difference was minimal, and it was so nice only having our group of 4, so we could move at our pace and all get a chance to see the animals in the scope. We saw other groups of 20+ and we were so glad we had a small group so we could hear MOP, ask him all our questions and learn more about Manuel Antonio and the animals we were seeing.

If you are planning a visit to Manuel Antonio Park, you definitely should book a private guide, and be sure to ask for MOP!

After having gone on guided walks with naturalists at Mistico hanging bridges in the Arenal area AND in Monteverde and not having seen much in the way of animals, I was hesitant to book another nature walk. However, knowing that Manuel Antonio Park is famous for its wildlife, I booked with Edwin and IT WAS AMAZING!!

Our guide, Saul (pronounced Saw-OOL, not Sol) Guzman was absolutely fantastic. He was hustling to find wildlife, and also talked with other guides to give/receive information. His ability to see things with his naked eye and then immediately set up his scope so that we could see what he was seeing was excellent. We saw three sloths, howler monkeys, capuchins, two deer, a (dead) gladiator frog, colorful red/blue crabs, "Halloween" crabs, a grasshopper as long as my hand with red wings, the "Jesus Chris" basilisk lizard, a rare stick bird, several agouti, a white-nosed coatimundi lazing about in a tree, tiny green, black, and red grashoppers, hummingbirds, and many other things that I can't remember. I highly recommend Saul and this tour!

Having a private guide was also great because the four of us could look in the scope and not have to wait for others - or worse, wait for others to take pictures in the scope! We went at 8am and there are ALOT of people going at that time - Saul said much fewer people go on tours at 10am, so that is another idea if you don't feel like going at 7am (which was too early for us).

Online booking, communication and directions to parking were great. Very specific and clear. Once we parked MOP was ready for us. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about the area and MA. His keen eye to spot the smallest of animals/ insects was amazing. Family of four with two daughters in their early 20s. I know we would not have seen half of the animals without a guide.
Thank you for taking such great care of us and sharing MA animals. I highly recommend this tour company and if you can have MOP as your guide even better.

Before we entered the park I wasn't sure whether a tour guide was necessary. I am on a tight budget cycle tour and the park for my budget was already expensive. The friends I was with with organised the tour though so although I was reluctant I went with it.

Within minutes I'd worked out that a tour guide is an absolute necessity. You cannot see anything unless you can spot the animals yourself and have high powered binoculars. The next thing you need is a great tour guide. Our tour with Manuel Antonio Park Tours was informative, interesting and funny. We were asked if there was any particular animals we definitely wanted to see and the tour was then based around this. As well as this we got to see countless other insects, birds, crabs. frogs, mammals.. everything! You can tell that the tour guide was passionate about his job and would answer any questions we had emphatically. He even offered advice for the rest of the park after the tour. 5 stars all round!

We had a great guide, Luis, who did a wonderful job of making sure we got to see lots of interesting animals and provided great information along the way.

The park is definitely worth a visit and has the best swimming beach in the area.

Be very careful of the scammers who try to trick you and flag you down as you get close to the park, just keep driving.

Edwin - who is very personable, greeted us and introduced us to Luis Roberto who was our guide. Luis was absolutely brilliant. He knew so much about all the animals, plants and trees and made sure to explain everything really clearly. We saw so many animals - iguana, hummingbird, stick bird, lizards, most importantly a sloth (three in fact!). He interacted well with our children and made sure they each saw the animals through his telescope. We wholly recommend this tour company.

The park can be a lot of fun but only if you have an excellent guide, which fortunately for us we did. FRAN VALLEJOS was excellent!! We could quickly tell he was much more knowledgeable about the animals and plants we saw than other guides. Several of the other guides followed his lead through the park. He insured we saw the animals we were most interested in and many more. He also made sure we took home several beautiful photos on our phones of the animals. The parking can be stressful and also getting park tickets. Make sure you follow the directions given in email after you purchase your tickets exactly. Also they use day/month/year for park entrance tickets. I totally booked the wrong day because of it but Fransisco helped me to get it fixed quickly.
