This is the only spice tour I am aware of in Costa Rica which is why I went. The farm is gorgeous and the guide was very knowledgeable. I still would only recommend it to hardcore foodies. Why? - 50 $ buys you admission, transport from your hotel and probably a rather large kick-back to your hotel. You are expected... More

Our guide, Guiselle was amazing! We learned so much. The grounds had amazing plant life, so glad i had my camera. The tastings were off the chart good! Definitely one of the top two tours we did in our week.

We had a great time visiting Villa Vanilla. We learned so much about how different things are grown from chocolate to vanilla & cinnamon too. The grounds are gorgeous & our guide was so kind & well educated. The tastings were outstanding. It was a great way to spend part of the afternoon & a really nice change of pace... More

Our family of five absolutely loved this tour. We were enchanted with our extremely knowledgeable young guide, who gave us a great lecture on the different spices grown on the farm, including vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, ginger, pepper, and others. There was lots of hands on, touching, sniffing and tasting, including fabulous homemade chocolates. All five of our senses... More

For Christmas vacation, my parents and I decided to take a trip to Costa Rica. We had booked a interesting-sounding tour of an organic vanilla farm on actual Christmas Day; and I'm glad we happened to choose that day, because we were treated to a tour by the owner himself, Henry. His two usual tour guides had taken the holiday... More

My husband and I stayed near Jaco and decided to drive down the coast to see the vanilla plantation. We got lost on the way, so we recommend getting a GPS and listening to it, but once we located the plantation, we were treated to an interesting and tasty tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. She encouraged questions,... More

Beautiful experience and informative! We spent the day in Manuel Antonio and decided to do the tour at Villa Vanilla, glad we did! The overall tour takes about 2 hours and during that you will learn about the different type of spices and agricultural products produced there, followed by a walk through the plantation, finished up by a dessert tasting... We had a bit of trouble with the directions to this spice farm, but once we got there it was a wonderful experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. We had a chance to taste the spices in their raw form and had samples of delicious chocolates. Next we walked though the beautiful rain forest where we saw the green vanilla... More
