Beautiful, panoramic view.

The sand in Jaco is black so the beach is HOTTER than you'd expect. The surf is rough with a riptide so there is no swimming for the faint of heart. The surfers love it! Take a... read more

Coming from Florida Jaco beach (pacific coast). Is just ok. It's a darker rockier sand that will require water shoes. The areas around Jacob are more for the partying college kids than the family oriented.

Jaco offers various activities but one of the main attractions is definitely the beach. I loved being here for EPIC sunsets, surf lessons (or just to watch others surf), relaxing, and just overall enjoying life <3

We came here for a four day long music festival. My husband came to Jaco in 2003 and he said it seemed to have been negatively impacted by the economy. On our drive in we saw many half built hotels that have been sitting long enough to become a heap of rust. The town was dusty, dirty and depressing. The... More

We loved everything about Jaco Beach. 24/7 Beach town. The food is great, hospitality exceptional, beach activities, hikes, zip lining, fishing, ATV, surfing, shopping, so much to do in Jaco! We can't wait to go back

Nice bay, nice views, Black sand, lots of rocks, huge waves so not good for swimming or for kids.We did find some nice bars to sit and watch the surfers and watch the beautiful sunsets.

The sand in Jaco is black so the beach is HOTTER than you'd expect. The surf is rough with a riptide so there is no swimming for the faint of heart. The surfers love it! Take a lovely, steamy walk to the very north end of the beach for a high tide swim in the lagoon and a chat with... More

This was a gorgeous black-sand beach in a laid back surfer town! No trash to be seen, not hounded by a ton of local vendors, soft sand without lots of rocks. We had a great time with our four kids ages 2-7. Word of warning...light colored swimsuits WILL have specks of black sand stuck in them!

Not my favourite place in Costa Rica - bit dirty, tons of people, bit of begging going on in places. Great for weather, surfing, nightlife, bars, etc. Just depends on what you are in to. Lots of activities but be prepared to spend a lot of money on them. Lots of better destinations in Costa Rica.....

Hot hot hot it's a nice beach but really rocky and not the greatest for tanning. But hey it's better than nuclear winter in Canada at the moment! Lol oh and beautiful sunsets like every day!!

Not our favorite beach here in Costa Rica. Dark sand and dirty. Good place for surfing or body boarding. Gets busy, as it is one of the closest beaches to San Jose, so many locals go here. The shops are great, prices are reasonable. Fun Tourist town! If your looking for a nice beautiful beach, this isn't it... Go for... More
