Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

We drove here in our rental. It's actually a beautiful drive into the mountains. Quite a ways up, so be prepared for some beautiful views across the rainforest and out to sea! The gardens were very lush, with an incredible amount of butterflies! We were going to hike to the waterfalls, but saw it was very steep for our son.... More

Thanks for your great review. Some people spend as much time on the beautiful views coming to the gardens as they do in the gardens. The whole mountain is pretty. Thanks again David and Cindy More

This is a must-see if in the Jaco area of Costa Rica. The trip can be booked at any hotel or condominium in Jaco. The Gardens are found high in the mountains with scenery utterly breathtaking - waterfalls, ocean view, flowers, trees that are very unique and much more.

We walked through the gardens and down to the view of the waterfall. It is quite far away, but with a good camera, you can get fantastic pictures. The gardens were very well kept and beautiful. The plants were labeled so you knew what you were looking at. It was a very nice day.

Just a great walk about through the mountain tops of Costa Rica and a garden in paradise. Spectacular views, incredible world wide planting seeds that thrive in a rainforest.

Pura Vida Gardens advertises that you will see the highest waterfall in Costa Rica as well as many types of wildlife We paid $20 US to walk about 200 meters on a paved path in a manicured garden There were plants as in all Costa Rican gardens and some of the plants attracted butterflies. That was the extent of the... More

The waterfall is gorgeous... but be prepared for the hike. They tell you its about 40 minutes.... it's triple that.. The hike is rugged, and definitely not to be done in sandals (trust me!) Bring lot's of water and bug spray... I am pretty active and struggled on the way back due to the heat

Dixie, Thank you for the 4 star rating BUT you have the WRONG TOUR. The walk you took to the waterfall is an illegal operation and has been closed down my the government and the Red Cross more than once. Since we are so remote up here on the mountain these guys simply close for a few days then reopen.... More

Walking through the Pura Vida gardens was a welcome respite from some of the more rugged hikes. The natural flowers were so beautiful. At the overlook there was a pleasant soft cool breeze & it added to the awesome view of the waterfall below. You could stand there taking in the view without sweating. Well worth the trip.

We went on a whim while driving toward Manuel Antonio. There are signs along the way saying 10 per person and that you need 4wheel drive to get to the waterfall. We stopped at the garden to ask about the waterfall and the worker told us it was $15 per person. I refused to pay this considering the signs stated... More
