Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

If you are in Jaco for more than a few days, you'll likely need a place to go outside the daily drinkfest. Solo or couples alike, you will enjoy the tranquility this place has to offer. Spend the afternoon...you wont' regret it.

I called the day before asking if they were open and the restaurant and was told yes to both. Great, so I planned my day as arriving around 9:30 and spend a few hours here and have lunch, as one of my primary reasons for...More

I came here on taxi as website suggested, 40$ USD one way and 20$ per person entry. We arrived and as stated the staff is bilingual and very friendly. However, the dining is a closed down shack. There are a few items to look at...More

Went with a tour from a cruise ship. The owner David was attentive and made sure we were happy. My wife is vegetarian and they accommodated her wonderfully. Would go back in a heartbeat.

An excellent way to spend a short port call in Costa Rica. Saw birds which we were not able to see elsewhere. Lunch was tasty and even satisfied a vegan. Staff was personable and we would go back. Small boutique was a better place to...More

I was happy we had 4WD as the road from the main highway was steep and twisty and getting re-done in that I had to dodge large trucks dumping erratic heaps of gravel all the way. But once we got to the gardens we were...More

We visited Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls on a cruise tour. We have been to the rain forest and cloud forest on other trips, but this proved to be a truly unique experience - our opportunity to view native plants at a leisurely pace, take...More

Started with the waterfall trail and was extremely disappointed because it was so far away and more of a downward/side view. The view of the ocean was spectacular though and you could see for miles and miles. Coming back up to the gardens we were...More

Very underwhelming, $20 entrance fee per person, waterfall was far from viewpoint balcony, which is elevated high above the fall, so trying to take pics with it in the background was a no go. Nothing spectacular in gardens, it is nice and scenic, but felt...More

You don't really get to see the falls. It is a challenging walk through gardens. There are steep areas and if it is wet, which it may be as it is a rain forest, it will be stressful for your group.

Unfortunately there is no bus service that comes close to the gardens. Taxi or rent a car Is about the only way. When you get to Jaco call me at the gardens at 2645-1001 and Maybe make something happen. Thanks David... More
