    See the view
Walk down the street wearing good shoes and then go up the mountain.. You can take the beach back afterwards. For an averagely fit 64yr old the hike up starts off difficult and then gets easier. If you go in the morning you have the opportunity to see much wild life, before it gets noisy and busy. Well with the effort.

    Great Views. Easy Hike.
One of my favorite places in Jaco is this trail up the mountain (at south end of town. across from gas station). Lots of birds and monkeys and amazing jungle! There are 2 main viewpoints the top one is the "old hotel" and is an incredible spot for the views and the "lost in the jungle feel" with all the graffiti art on the walls. Hike is pretty easy and is doable up and down in an hour or less if you were rushed but it is nice to sit at the top and enjoy the views. Trails continue up the mountain, but the Old Hotel site is the highlight!

Spectacular Views from an Abandoned Hotel
This is an abandoned hotel that's overlooking the city of Jaco in Costa Rica. The hotel offers a great view over the Pacific and a leisurely hike up to the hotel along the road that was once meant to bring tourists. The hotel is still there, all built to impress, though apparently there wasn't enough money to finish it. The hike up is impressive and colourful with a wall done in relief with different scenes all the way up. The view from the hotel was awesome, from the many balconies that were built to look over the ocean. Recommended to walk up and see the beginning of the sunset, but don't wait too long as you'll be walking down in the dark.

Awesome hike and fantastic views. Make sure you wear tennis shoes!! Not an easy trek up in flip flops. Stay left on the trails- two lookout points on your way up to the top. Would recommend this if you want some good pictures and to see some really cool street art. You can also bike this trail.

    Well worth seeing
We had read about El Miro before we came to Costa Rica and so headed off to find the entrance to the trail. It was a hotel that was being built but was never finished. Now there is amazing graffiti on almost all the walls. There are lots of rooms to explore and it is two stories. And then there is the view! Which is the next best reason to make the trek. It allows you to see all of Jacó beach from a high up advantage. So between the view and all the amazing artwork in the form of graffiti, and the fact that it was free makes it a win, win! Just take lots of water!

    Quite the place!
Very interesting place to visit. The views are outstanding! It's a bit of an odd place... to see where somebody started to spend a lot of money and then just... walked away. Some of the graffiti is truly art. Some is just graffiti. The walk up there is best done before the heat of the day!

    El Miro
It shows a nice view of Jaco from the top. You need to be prepared to have a 10-15 walk up to the hill and through the property. It is and old construction left aside where you can take interesting pictures. Cars can’t go through the property, you need you leave it in the main entrance (you will see when you get there).

    Don’t let Free scare you!
This is the best free thing you will ever do in Jaco area. The day before I paid 110.00 US to visit Manual António National Park and I was more impressed with Miro Mountain by far. Beautiful look out over Jaco Beach, wildlife on the trek up the Mountain. Wear good shoes, take cold water with you and enjoy the walk for FREE! I took an Uber from Jaco for about 3US dollars. After the hike up and down I ate at Miros right at the entrance. I was pleasantly impressed. Food was so good and very affordable. Tastey smoothies and their French fries fresh cut and the best I’ve ever had in all my travels. A true hidden gem.

    Art Views and Wildlife
Wonderful short hike up to a fantastic viewpoint with lots of fun art. Entire trip took about an hour, including a stop for lots of photos. Numerous animals were spotted, including monkeys, frogs, and iguanas. Great activity to do in the morning before the heat of the day or a stunning sunset view but if sure to bring a flashlight for the trip down. This is a perfect hike on the edge of town, easily accessible and interesting to people of all ages. Do not follow Google maps to the trail head. You will end up on the side of a road in Costa Rica with no trail entrance insight. (Don’t ask how I know) Go to the restaurant across from the gas station. Follow the driveway with the signs heading up.

    History and a view!
Entrance hard to find- Just south of Jaco there is a Petrol station. There are 4-5 parking spaces across the street from it. Then walk south next to restaurant for the trailhead. The painted concrete wall on the way to the ruins is beautiful. We also saw a toucan in the tree on the way down. The ruins is interesting with the spiral staircases. The view at the ruins of the beach and Jaco is awesome!

Enjoyed a nice hike up to El Miro with my wife. Hike was not too difficult. Seems lots of people go there to exercise. This is a great spot to view Jaco bay. Lots of cool artwork on the walls of the unfinished hotel.

This place was well worth the hike. The artwork and views were amazing! Felt like a whole new world. Would be a great place for a picnic or just to clear your mind. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle like I did! Would highly recommend :)

The views were amazing and the art work was very cool. The hike isn’t too bad but make sure you bring plenty of water. The El Miro Restaurant at the bottom of the hill was amazing. $7 for a big plate of food.
