My husband and I had a blast doing this canyoning tour! From the first contact with Tropical Escapade, everything was clear and well organized. Even if the activity we chose was quite extreme, we always felt safe and enjoyed every second of our journey. The rainforest is fantastic; our guide made us temporary tattoos with plants, talked about different super interesting medicinal plants, and even had us taste food that Mother nature provides. We were very entertained during the hike, and then we arrived in front of a beautiful waterfall. Our guide told us: that the adventure begins here! He made sure our harnesses were tied and helmets clipped, made a recap of some technical instructions, and we had the most amazing time doing rappelling right in the waterfall jet and jumping down the river. We had the whole jungle for ourselves. I recommend this tour to any adrenaline junkies. We wish we had time to do more adventures; Golfito has much more to offer than we thought. We promised to return soon and try more activities with Tropical Escapade.

My son and I had an incredible experience with Tropical Escapade! Our Airbnb host recommended we speak with Cindy and she was very responsive and helpful! She arranged a last minute tour for us to La Leona sector of Corcovado Nacional Park. Our guide, Dani, was exceptional! His background in biology and as a ranger in Corcovado National Park as well as his exuberant passion and love for the flora and fauna made for an incredibly informative and captivating walk through the woods! We saw an exceptionally abundant and diverse variety of wildlife throughout our journey including four anteaters, three of the four species of monkeys that live in Costa Rica, sleepy vampire bats, a black throated trogon, two species of caracara, a tayra, throngs of macaws, and golden orb spiders were among the highlights. Dani even stopped to show us the symbiotic relationship between tiny wasps and fig trees that most people probably just pass by. We have travelled all around Costa Rica and we have to say this tour was by far the best we've experienced! Dani is a truly exceptional guide and we highly recommend taking a tour with him!!
Thank you to Cindy, Tropical Escapade, and Dani!!

We had a fantastic trip with Carlos to Corcovado national park. We were extremely fortunate to see everything we could have hoped to see, and Carlos really went above and beyond.
We saw all four monkey species within quick succession, followed by an amazing sighting of a Tamandua anteater. After our break at Silena ranger station we saw a fer de lance snake and coati, we also had an incredible interaction with a tapir walking right past us on the beach. To top things off, Carlos heard some commotion with birds and monkey’s alarming. He quickly instructed us to follow him down the path where we caught a glance of a puma crossing the trail - a once in a lifetime sighting!
Amazing bird sightings too! Carlos is very impressive with his bird calls and knowledge of all of Corcovado’s fauna and flora!
Thanks Carlos!

We did the 2-day excursion to Corcovado (one night in the park), it was simply magical!
Our guide Kevin did everything to ensure that we were amazed, he speaks French very well, he is passionate about nature and animals. He did his best so that we could see as many animals as possible, we were amazed.
We recommend it without hesitation

Mangrove Kayak Tour
I’m probably in the minority of tourists here on the Osa Peninsula. Animal spotting happens everywhere here, on any tour. And while that’s cool, I just love being inside the mangrove forest. So this kayak tour up river into the heart of the mangroves was magical.
Kayaking allows you to be unclose to these otherworldly trees. The delicate, spider-legged root systems of the red mangroves seemed to lift the dense forest over a meter above the surface of the water in defiance of gravity, forming a window into the forest. Above clusters of dark-green leaves spiraled like playing cards. Just beyond, the tea and white mangroves rose upward arching over the river from both sides. We paddled upriver, until the “river” was little more than a creek and we were surrounded. I learned that mangroves serve many different functions for the protection of the shoreline for humans, wildlife and even for the coral reefs.
Yes, we also saw squirrel monkeys, ibis and even a crocodile. But if you are flexible and want to maximize your tour, ask Cindy for advice on the tides, the moon and the time of day. This tour can also include bioluminesce, sunset paddling in the gulf and more animals, including dolphins.
However, for me the mangrove forest itself is the star of the show.

Unforgettable experience with excellent and quick communication from Cindy who operates the agency. We did an overnight stay in Corcovado national park. Ended up hiking from Carate to La Sirena Station which felt like an amazing achievement for us considering the challenging weather - totally worth it! Cindy (another Cindy) our guide was a really genuine soul with a clear passion for her work - she helped us understand what to look out for when trying to spot wildlife and gave great explanations about all the things we observed. Having her as our guide made the whole experience so much more fruitful! Tropical Escapade offers many other tours and curated options which we would have loved to try out and I would totally recommend them based on our experience! Thank you!

We did the one day intense excursion, walking from Sirena in Corcovado. We had an amazing day! Started with seeing dolphins on the boat ride to monkeys and uncountable other animals and wildlife. Our tour guide Luis was the best at spotting and telling us fun facts about everything we saw!
Huge compliment and thank you so much for the experience :)

An absolute adventure! I never did Canyoning before, but our guide Fernando was very gifted in explaining and made me feel safe. We learned how to climb up waterfalls in a very fun way, climbed around on rocks along the water and jumped into refreshing lagunes. It felt like an adventure playground for adults amid Costa Rica’s breathtaking waterfalls and rainforest. I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone, getting all wet and feeling free while rappelling down waterfalls. Definitely recommend this tour if you seek adventure and an unforgettable experience being closest to Costa Rica’s beautiful nature.

Amazing Corcovado tour with Tropical Escapade !
Booking was easy with the office by whatsapp and the trip with their guide Carlos was amazing !
He definetely knows his stuff, make sure the trip goes well and safely (make sure of the tides for the river and important paths, rent boots for us for instance). He also made sure our stay at the biologic station was perfect and well organised.
We also saw a lot of animals because of him (no pictures here so you don’t get spoil of the beauty).
He is also a very cool guide we had a lot of fun with him
Cheers

I have done a few tours with Tropical Escapade during my time in Costa Rica so far, and they all have been amazing experiences! I went on a guided hike near Corcovado National Park and saw a ton of wildlife! Carlos, my guide, was able to tell me what every spider, snake, and animal was that we came across. I also had a hands on experience processing cacao by hand, which was so fun and something I'll never forget! Cindy was my guide for that process, as well as hiking to a waterfall in the area which was beautiful and super remote! My group had the place to ourselves while we were there. Overall I've had awesome experiences with Tropical Escapade, and will book more tours through them while I'm in Costa Rica!

Bonjour, il y a différents itinéraires. La plupart des sentiers sont en montagne, mais il y en a un avec une topographie particulièrement plat, près de la halte El Bonito. C'est le sentier principal, très intéressant.

Do you have tours that are appropriate for a a 2 y.o.child?
Written December 23, 2017
In Golfito, I would recommend a short hike to a waterfall where you can swim in the natural pool.
In the Peninsula, our horseback riding tour is popular with young children as they go in the same horse as their parent or the guide. I would also suggest the farming tour in that area.
If you have a baby carrier/harness you can go on pretty much any hike.
