Four of us were headed to Tortuguero for two nights with absolutely nothing planned besides our accommodation (Tortuga Lodge & Gardens). On our way there, we happened to hear about Mr. Castor from a friend of his. After hearing about his motorized silent canoe tour, we booked it for early the next day. We met him at the Almond Tree... We had an incredible canoe tour with Castor. He's friendly, knowledgable and we saw so much wildlife. We saw howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, blue herons, green herons, kingfishers, emerald basilisks, toucans, river turtles, caiman crocodiles and more! Highly recommend doing a tour with him.

Castor guided us on a fun and relaxing canoe ride through Tortuguero's canals. He was very friendly, knowledgable and was able to spot animals with ease! He also has a Caribbean restaurant called Soda Dona Maria that was delicious and authentic. With Castor as your guide, you'll be able to make the most of of your stay in Tortuguero!

Castor was friendly, full of information, patient with everyone being able to spot them often quite camouflaged animals in the jungle. Recommended.

We took a canoe tour and walk through the park for $27 ea. The Canoe was fantastic - Castor's eyes are like no other guides, finding animals that every other boat missed. Being in a canoe we were free to explore the smaller canals and feel totally emerged in the rainforest. Can't recommend enough. You can find Castor by a... More

Castor will take you round the water trails in the national park, he's a great guide and his eyes are amazing, spotting animals despite their camouflage, toucans, monkeys, caymans and many more. Getting in to the park at the earliest opportunity was the best experience of my visit to Costa Rica, can't recommend him highly enough. His home is right... More

We loved the trip! Castor was recommended by the owners of casa rio blanco, and they didn't lie! He knew what he was talking about and spotted so many animals that nobody could have seen. You can do tours with a motor boat but the kano that Castor used was obviously more quiet so we could get really close! When... More

This tour was recommended by our lodge Casa Rio Blanco, in Guapiles (a place to avoid, check my review). The lodge's owner convinced us that we could travel by public transportation from Guapiles, get a tour in Tortuguero at 11 or 11.30 and come back on time to get the last bus in La Pavona at 3pm. He booked everything... More

Caster was a fantastic and knowledgable guide! He was able to answer all questions and you could tell he really cared about the turtles. This tour is well worth the money and something you only see once in a lifetime. Don't miss it!
