I had an amazing time! I was a bit hesitant before booking but you won’t be disappointed. All the views are the best for your IG/FB/Snapchat. Don’t worry yourself about commuting to the locations, you’re all taken care of. I’d also say byob for the road as the first location is a ways out.

This was a blast from start to finish. Great way to meet new friends and see other beautiful parts of Costa Rica while playing fun games, dancing/listening/ singing along to some excellent tunes, drinking authentic Costa Rican drinks and eating some delicious food.
This is a MUST for tourists and locals!

Not going to lie I was a little hesitant to do this, as I am not a fan of bus tours, but SO HAPPY I did! Right from the start the day was fun- the music, the shots, the people, the entire vibe was awesome. Loved the bonfire and the live music. Dan & Dani (the hosts) were unlike any other “guides” I’ve experienced before- down-to-earth and so much fun to be around! They made the Costa Rica that much more fun- PURA VIDA!

I'm giving this an 'average' not 'terrible' score on the basis that I can certainly see the appeal for a certain demographic, however I realised as soon as it started - it wasn't for me at all (30 year old British woman) my mistake...

This excursion would be awesome for you if you're in your early twenties, prone to saying "woooooo" inexplicably at the slightest provocation and are easily entertained by the presence of alcohol.

We went to some nice bars, stayed for a long time at each, but unfortunately kayaking, sailing and other water based activities described did not occur (perhaps due to the drizzle). Found the whole thing pretty dull, would have had a better day exploring places independently, and perhaps more likely to meet likeminded people that way. But yes if you're an American teenager, sure you'd have had a superfun Sunday at this event, don't let me put you off!

The Beach & Pool Crawl is a great activity for people looking to get out of Tamarindo & see some local beaches.

It's $35.00 in advance on their website & $40.00 on the day of.

Here is exactly what is included in the price:

You get 4 free drinks or shots (chosen by the bars). Your first drink is in Tamarindo before you depart (about 25 minute drive).

You go to 3 different locations outside of Tamarindo that either have really great pools or beaches (or both!!!!).

At each location you get a drink or shot. Food is extra but is available at every location. You hop on to a school bus & go from location to location.

At each spot they offer happy hour deals to the people on the tour. There is always great music & cool people to meet.

This is the best way to meet people & start off a great vacation. You leave Tamarindo around 1:00 pm & get back around 8:00.

Peter and Kelsey are great hosts & sometimes when they have big groups they hire other great tour guides to join them.

I highly recommend doing this!!

I am a single traveler in my mid thirties that is past the partying stage of my life. While I normally would not seek out such a trip, I decided to go after a friend recommended it. It was a great decision.

The trip started with a local cutting open a chilled coconut for each of us to drink, with spirits available for those that desired. We then boarded an air conditioned bus to make our way to a resort on Playa Flamingo. Food and drink specials were included along with access to pools and a private beach. It was here that several of us soon discovered that there were numerous attendees over the age of 30, both single and married. Without noticing, natural groups formed with the "seasoned" group taking advantage of the private beach while the more energetic group took advantage of the pool options. We tossed around a frisbee (flying disk) and had a blast laughing at each other. Kayaks were available, which I intended to use, but we were having so much fun, I never got around to it.

Our next stop seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. It did not take too long to get there but that was little else around. I was wondering why this location was selected....until we got there. The view was incredible! The place served food and drinks but the highlight was certainly the large infinity pool overlooking a ridiculous view of the ocean. We were there through a sunset that was simply unreal. I failed to bring a camera and that was my biggest mistake. Absolutely gorgeous!

Our last stop was at a place back in Tamarindo. Once again, food and drinks were available along with great pool access. Several of us sat out by the pool, eating and shooting the breeze.

Through the stops, I ended up meeting several people of whom I will stay in contact with during my stay in Tamarindo and perhaps beyond. I would recommend this trip to both residents of Tamarindo and travelers alike...I will probably do it again myself!

A little context before starting the review. My boyfriend has done pub crawls in almost every country in Europe, in Brazil and in Australia. I am a 22 year-old university student. It goes without saying that we love to party.

Unfortunately, the Beach and Pool Crawl was not what it was advertised to be, and so we are hoping to help other people avoid being stuck in the same trap as we were.

Firstly, there was absolutely none of the activities that were advertised… no party games, no bonfire sunset… The two hosts spent 75% of their time talking with the same group of 4-5 people. Usually, in crawls like this, their job is to try to create a great group atmosphere with drinking games and entertainment, but this was clearly lacking in this tour. I honestly think the only time they talked to us was when we checked-in at the beginning😂 As I said, my boyfriend did more than 20 pub crawls in his life, and never did he find a “party” atmosphere as monotone and boring.

What really put a damper on our day though, was the very inappropriate, provocative and sexual dancing that was not only condoned by the hosts, but it was actually them that started it. We are all for dancing and having fun, but when someone is twerking in a bikini at literally 2 centimeters of our face or dry humping someone else on top of my boyfriend’s head, or doing body shots on top of seats ON A ROLLING BUS, and the hosts are not putting a stop to this inappropriate behaviour but encouraging it, we believe a line has been crossed between fun partying and very inappropriate behaviour. We could not believe the scene that was unfolding before us on the bus. I repeat: in all of the pub crawls my boyfriend has done, he has NEVER even been close to seeing something so vulgar.

As I said, we are all for partying. For example, the day before, we did a fun open-bar catamaran tour where everyone was dancing, partying and having fun. On that catamaran tour, there was a clear sign that said that “no provocative or sexual dancing would be tolerated”. This resulted in everyone having a wonderful time, without feeling very uncomfortable, because no random girl’s butt was at 2 centimeters of their face ;) We strongly encourage anyone reading to priorise these catamaran tours! Much better value also, with included food and unlimited drinks!!!

Finally, we were very disappointed with management! We wrote to them after the tour to explain our disappointment and they told us to pass at the office the next day. We thought we would have the time, but finally we had an early transfer to our next destination, so we explained our problem in writing. Management saw our message and never wrote back to us. This just goes to show that management is ok with the ideas of guests being uncomfortable on the tour.

In conclusion, if the type of partying described resonates with you: book this tour. But if you are like us, and like partying without getting into very sexual and provocative behaviour, there are many better options to have fun in Tamarindo :)

Ok do not miss this one if you are there in Tamerindo or close.
Starts at Sharky's goes to some of the coolest bars and beautiful places as a bus tour that includes drinking and shenanigans. Bring your softsided Yeti full of your favorite drinks and that will keep you well hydrated between stops.
Take lots of pictures and just let go! The tour operators are husband and wife and can make the trip a lot of fun, Great couple. This is cheep for what you get!!!! bring extra cash to spend at the bars. We had a blast. so fun I would go again!
