This would have gotten 5 stars except that the meet up for the excursion is a giant mess. You get to the beach with no signs or tents or people wearing Blue Dolphin attire. It took a few to find out where to wait and who to confirm excursion with. After that it was all gravy. Open bar, snorkeling a private beach, super helpful and fun staff and a spectacular sunset. I would highly recommensd this if you can.

Two of us went out from Tamarindo one Saturday afternoon with Blue Dolphin. Was a pretty full time with a mixed crowd - one family, some younger locals and older tourists - everyone in a good friendly mood. Free drinks, good food and great sights made everything better. The downside was due to high winds, the snorkeling experience could not be realized due to the murkiness - but that's not Blue Dolphin's fault. I left my water shoes and the helped me pick them up later so I'm thankful for that.

This was our second time sailing with Blue Dolphin. We like the 8am cruise for its chill non-party vibe, although cocktails are available and salsa dancing often breaks out on the run home. Captain Chutey and First Mate Pablo ensure you have a happy, safe and comfortable tour with all the gear you need (kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling, and noodles). Departs Tamarindo and sails (yes they actually DO put the sails up!) for an hour to Playa des los Huevos, where you moor and snorkel, kayak, swim to and play on the beach and so on. A delicious fajita lunch is spread before you when you return to the cat, and the sail home is happy and relaxed. Chutey and Pablo are expert boaters who make it look effortless. The cat itself is stable, spotless and has a pristine head (bathroom).

We had a great time on the Blue Dolphin! The crew was wonderful, the drinks were flowing, and the sunset was incredible! The only thing that could have made it better would be more time at the beach - we were having too much fun snorkeling and weren't quite ready to head home! Highly recommend - we will definitely book the Blue Dolphin again next time we are in Tamarindo!

Five hours on the BLUE DOLPHIN flew by. You sailed, snacked, swam, had lunch, sailed some more and watched a beautiful sunset. The staff kept us well fed and there was an open bar...their punch is the specialty but wine and beer were available. There were swim vests and noodles, snorkel gear, kayaks to share. Recommend it as a delightful way to see more of the Tamarindo Beach area.
