About
We walk along the the edge of the Langosta Estuary and the Dry Tropical Forest---one of the most vulnerable & threatened ecosystems on the planet! This "interchange zone" between the Estuary system and the Savanna is a distinct ecosystem in itself and seldom seen by residents or visitors. It is another world with a vast diversity of plant, animal and insect species. Ideal for Bird Watchers, photographers and other Nature Lovers. A rare & unforgettable adventure into the depths of the tropical forest.

Practice makes perfect?
We were the first paying customers for this activity. Unfortunately it showed. Fortunately this didn't come as a big surprise and we had been forewarned that it was a new venture by the Tamarindo Tour Centre who we booked through.
The guide/ owner, who I think was called Gerry, had set the trip up months ago but not had any takers until us. This meant that he had forgotten the route a bit and we ended up a little lost for a while!
He also had not got the standard tour guide skills such as stopping and turning round to face us as we walked through deep noisy fallen leaves to make sure his comments could be heard!
On the plus side we have heard by speaking to others over the last month that he took our comments on this to heart and so it should just be a case of practice makes perfect.
I recall we paid $25 each for what was in effect a private nature/environmental/educational tour. We had a fun enough time and felt this was a reasonable price for what we got.
Gerry seemed a genuine and nice guy more interested in doing a good job and sharing his interest for the Costa Rican environment than simply making money so I suspect that his reviews will improve as he continues to improve his service. For which he has our best wishes.
