Clean beach that wasn't over crowded. Sadly every few minutes someone walks by trying to sell you some thing or other.

We went to Tamarindo to surf. The waves were pretty mellow, so that was good for me since I'm a beginner. There were some pretty big breaks further out, but those were out of my league. The beach itself was nice, not overly crowded. I think it's best for surfing. It's beautiful, but not really one of those picturesque beaches... More

If you've been to crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches, that's not what you'll find in Tamarindo. But they don't sell that it'll look that way. Just a heads up its not. Tamarindo beach attracts surfers from far and wide. I was just there to walk on the beach. Very soft surface to walk on barefoot, especially at low tide.

The colors are just breathtaking and it's just the place to be for a wonderful sunset picture ! We went beginning January and it was overcrowded ! Music everywhere and lots of traffic. If... More

Tamarindo Beach has everything you could want as far as a family beach outing goes. However, there were a few turns offs including unmentionables buried in the sand where I decided to lay my towel. People can be gross so by no reason the fault of the beach in general. There was also a heavy wind that was coating everything... More

Great beach with plenty of areas to walk. Many testaurants to choose with areas to lie down afterwards. Had lunch at La Palapa which had the best view and right by the water
