Enjoyed the beautiful sunsets but waves are not big enough to surf in😳 primarily went for the deep sea fishing, caught nice blue marlin and sail fish

Called Tamagringo for a reason....but also why it makes sense for most tourists to visit regardless of surfing intentions. Laid back surfer beach town with many restaurants and bars to choose from. Ale lovers will be pleasantly surprised to find Volcano Brewing at Witch's Rock Surf Camp right on Tamarindo Beach. Less than an hour from Liberia airport. Would return... More

Spent hours walking up and down this lovely beach! Hit it both at low and high tide and body surf the waves!

If you are looking for typical tourist shops, expensive generic beach bars and a tourist beach than you would be more of a fan of this beach. With that being said, if I lived locally this would be a convenient shopping location. I just enjoyed the other more calm beach areas more.

This beach is really worth the trip especially for surfers. It is wide and long and plenty of room for lots of people. There is good parking but leave no valuables in your vehicle!!! There are chairs and umbrellas to rent. Not many beaches have that here. There are tons of hotels and restaurants to enjoy your time here. Please... More

Tamarindo is a nice beach. Too much surfers flying around to allow for calm splashing in most cases but still a long beach so one normally can find a small corner to get wet without risking ones life. The beach becomes more a toursit place every year so finding shops and places to eat is no problem. Still what makes... More

Tamarindo Beach is a town full of serfers, seniors, tourists, locals. Good sized town. Fauna and flora - you are in the jungle! Birds, butterflies, monkeys in the trees, and, of course, the beach! We stayed on top of "the hill" and were 2 minutes from town, by shuttle. Maybe 10 minutes by foot. Town has it all! Yoga, fitness... More
