Lovely beech... Great place to learn to surf

Hardly anyone about when we went, the trees mask the hotels adjacent to the beech. Soft sand and warm ocean... Lovely and a bit hippy.

Tamarindo beach is very easy to get to and one of the more popular places. Hence the crowds. It is a great place for a beginner surfer.

For obvious reasons Tamarindo is the place to surf. Large sandy shallow beach with perfect waves for all levels. Beginners to experts. Just move to a part of the beach that suits you. If you are learning or just want surf bigger smoother waves no brainier. Town is a surfing town. Party atmosphere at night. Some drinking at the beach.... More

We planned fewer days for Tamarindo after reading how touristy and overdone it was. However, we found it to be a really nice surfing town with lots of young people traveling from far away to surf these waves. The town was charming and the beach was amazing. Soft sand and very few rocks, great waves for beginner surfers. The instructors... More

Cool beach with plenty to do. Great surf and restaurants! If you get a chance, try the boat tour to the little island.

I just came back from Tamarindo and my friends and I all received massages from Adriana of Massage by Elizabeth. She was very professional and provided amazing service. We were all very tired and sore before seeing her, and after the massage we felt so much better. I recommend this massage service to all!

What an amazing experience. My kids 6 and 8 had an opportunity to surf at surfing school. There are vendors everywhere and if I had to listen to one more bird toy I was going to lose it.

Beautiful beach! Delicious restaurants. Nice mix of potential activities like shopping, zip lining, horseback riding, surfing, etc. - and non-activities, like hanging out that the beach or pool. Sunsets are amazing! Great for the family. There is something for everyone.
