Overall the beach was just above average. Lots of surfers. Clean sand but really hard. We went to the area near one of the beach clubs.

Rich social life on a great beach with perfect weather everyday (in dry season!). Come alone, as a couple, or in a group and you will have a great time. Wear comfortable shoes as the roads are pitiful.

Took our nephew and his spouse to Tamarindo to surf. Spent a very nice day on the beach. Boards were easily available to rent. Umbrellas and chairs also easy and reasonable to rent.

Tamarindo beach is very large. The ends offer very different experiences. Near to town on the northen end is a crowded, noisy, exciting section with surfers, bars, music, vendors, gorgeous young women- seriously! I am a 60 year old grandmother and have to say that...More

Both bathing and beginner surfing friendly. When the tide is low you can walk the whole beach, is a long and beautiful stroll.

We stayed at Villa Verde II in Tamarindo. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach and close to downtown.
