Our family of 4 with very different ages, sizes and ability were expertly and enthusiastically taught by Leandro. Especially impressive was Leandro's investment in teaching his students about tides, waves, wind, types of surf conditions. He also stresses detailed form instructions whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced. He even had a power point presentation before our first lesson. He goes deep, so if you want to "geek out" on surfing, he's the guy for you. Even I was able to get up and stay on for quite a few waves. I would highly recommend this instructor and experience to anyone coming to Tamarindo wanting to start or improve their surfing. Great positive attitude as well.

Stop looking, you’ve just found the finest surf instructor in town. He passionately gave me and my kids (7 and 11) fantastic lessons. Me and my son were able to read and catch waves after two lessons.

I took surf lessons with Leandro while living in Tamarindo for a couple of months and HIGHLY recommend using him if you're looking for lessons while in the area. Leandro will walk you through techniques and general surfing knowledge before you even get in the water. This might seem like a boring approach reading about it, but it's SO much more beneficial having that information before getting in the water so you can be coached more effectively once you hit the water. Leandro provided tons of resources for continued learning while away from the water.
Surfskate is also a super fun activity to learn with Leandro. He brings as much passion and fun to those lessons as he does when surfing in the water. The lessons I learned during a surf skate session were easy to apply to my next time out in the water and are a great compliment. It's also a great bonus activity to learn if you're headed back to a place where you won't be able to surf.
All in all, I highly recommend taking lessons with Leandro. You won't be disappointed.

My friends told me “the best surf teacher ever”, I was like, we’ll see… and they were right!!
He does more than any other teacher out there! You get an explanation of the theory first and then, he helps you catch a wave and stand up within the first 10 min of the class.
+ he does an amazing workout/stretching/meditation most mornings, with mobility moves specific to surf in order to help you get the good reflex!
I highly recommend Leandro!!

Leandro and his academy improved my surfing skills so far. He is not just a teacher, he is a coach.
He will give you techniques, manuals, concepts, surf skate class and all the information that you need to become better at surfing.
I was someone that experienced panic attacks during surfing and he gave me confidence and strength to get rid off that. Surfing became a therapeutic way of surrender. The last time that I surfed with him I did incredible things, in fact so many people were congratulating me and they asked me: who did you learn with? Of course Surfeveryday Academy. I highly recommend it, he is passionate about it. You can be inspired by the way how he respects the ocean, and read the waves. And one important thing, we wants to empower you, in a way that you will be independent of him. Some surf instructors want to have you as a client for ever. He wants you to surf 🌊

Leandro offers a very complete type of class! Theory, materials to read at home, and a very motivating practice on the waves! He also cares about the next steps after the class, if you want to keep developing. I’ve had few surf classes before, but I definitely improved adding his techniques. It was great experience!

Amazing. The way surfing is taught here is so thorough, clear, and easy to understand. As a complete beginner I feel like they really equipped me to understand what is happening and gave me the tools to go out and surf on my own. The positive energy they bring is incredible and adds even more to the awesome experience

Had 2 surf lessons with Leondro, and it was awesome! The lessons started with theory lesson and practice in the classroom, then we went to beach, practiced a bit and then went in the water! Caught some waves in the first lesson! And we learned how to catch the waves by ourselves in the second lesson! Such a great experience and I wished I could stay longer to have more lessons with Leondro! I will be back! Highly recommend anyone who want surf lessons and want to really learn something!
