My 2 younger sisters, my mom and I (all first time surfers) took lessons at the surf school. In no time with the help of our teacher, we were all up on our own. The teacher was super helpful, and stayed in the water with us the whole time and was encouraging. I could not have asked for anything better!!

I had a shoulder problem in the sea and was compelled to cancel the lesson. They refunded me without hesitation. During the theory the teacher was very nice and professional. Liked!

Our teacher gave us practical instruction and helped us in the water the whole time. He was very good! The reason for the lack of excellent rating: it's a small shop (almost just a booth) so there are no lockers for your personal belongings while surfing; no wetsuits, just well-worn jerseys for your upper body, and the surf boards were far from new. The staff were friendly, helpful, and overall great to deal with. It's their facilities that could use some upgrading. Nor was there a photographer on the beach taking photos which would be available (not mandatory) for purchase. I've used another surf shop that did this. Overall we had a fun, informative lesson. There's just no extra services or facilities available.

My two sons - 12 and 15 - had several lessons with Vincent during our stay in Tamarindo. He was fantastic. They made enormous progress and loved learning with him. Super relaxed, great sense of humour and delightful individual. Part of the excellent Cala Luna hotel, who made the logistics very easy. Highlight of the holiday.
