I visit Tamarindo Surfing with my kids frequently. This is the best surf shop in town, full stop. Hands down the customer Service is stellar. My daughter Maya and I were there 1 week ago and rented our board from Sabrina. The boards are well taken care of and are in amazing condition. When Maya got surf burn on her legs Sabrina shared Aloe from her garden. Her staff are super proffesional and kind. Just walk around this shop, everything is quality. Right across from the surf, you can leave your board there and pick it up on the way to the beach. I have nothing but great things to say about this little shop. This is the only place I will get my boards when in Tama. Thank you CR Surf Club David & Maya McLaughlin

Sabrina is one the sweetest, friendliest Costa Ricans in Tamarindo. Extremely knowledgeable on all the types of boards and launching sites. She recommended Felipé to teach both me and my daughter how to surf since he’s amazing with kids and groups. Felipé was very patient and explained all the different positions of surfing, how and when to pop up, how to carry the board, and what to do with different types of waves (smooth, gentle, or rough). We spent a good 15-20 minutes on the shore practicing how to paddle, position ourselves, and pop up before attempting to surf. Once we felt ready, my daughter and I caught many waves with his help! Despite feeling tired (my arms hurt from paddling), I enjoyed the whole experience and would shout, “Una más, una más!” (One more, one more wave!). Honestly, this lesson with my daughter was the highlight of our vacation. We plan to come here again for a visit and will definitely book another lesson in the near future.

Enjoyed surf lesson for 2 people. Phillipe was great and we made a lot or progress. They have a shower to rinse off in the back.

Thanks for your comment, unfortunately Jesus is no longer with us ...no worry’s he just got another job, so it looks like being our slave wasn’t good for him.

Worst scam ever, never seen a customer experience close to that. We were 2 couples, renting 2 surf boards for the first time so they knew that they would have the benefice of the doubt when examining the boards. We’ve noticed some scratches everywhere on the board before renting it but they said it was just the coat but not the board so no need to put it on paper. After max 30 min of surf within 4 hours, we’ve handed the board back and the girl which I think is the owner was really rude and tried to make us pay 100$ for a scratch after telling her that it was our first time and we didn’t spend much time trying to surf. She was agressive and made attitude so we told her it is a scam and we won’t pay for this so she finally said it is $20 and keeps yelling at us. In my entire life, I‘ve never seen something like that and obviously, she wanted to be paid in cash... not recommend to anybody and this is not how you’re making good business. She takes advantage of travelers that don’t want any trouble and would pay to buy peace but I am 10000% sure I am not the only one who experienced the same thing there.

Paint scratches on the boards it’s allowed on used boards, the ones with more than a few months of use or more, but you came back with a big ding over the scratch, Sabrina (my wife) was never rude, but you were really disgusting with her at that point that a manager from another surf shop (my competition) came to stop you, Unfortunately your not the only one, but part of the 1% that we kick out of the shop. Please never come back to our surf shop, period. To the future customers: Boards usually get dings in or outside the water, only sitting on the board by the beach (most beginners does it) can damage the board, just to name 1 of many reasons.
