Cannot say enough good things about this experience. (First, a non-tour tidbit. Days before I went on the tour, Warren Sr. drove me around to find a power cord for my laptop. I needed the cord to finish a work project that same day, but every store in town told me I had to get one in San Jose—3 hours away. Warren Sr. wasn't having it, and we found a power cord in nearby Villareal. Saved the day.) This father-son due—Warren Sr. and Warren Jr.—love what they do. They are true nature lovers, and their excitement is infectious. On our tour we pulled over many times to spot and photograph tucans, sloths, a rare and endangered white hawk, rainbows, rainbow eucalyptus, a crocodile, and many other birds I can't name. I've never considered myself a bird watcher, but it was hard not to get excited when they would spot something in the trees (how could they even see these things?!), pull the van over, hustle to get a closer look, whip out the telescope on a tripod, and take pictures with my phone. I can see wildlife in a zoo, but it was a different experience altogether to spot exotic animals in the wild. The Warrens also pointed out many other things along the trip that I never would have recognized, giving me a greater understanding of the area's culture, wildlife, and history. On our way back we stopped at a restaurant for lunch that served authentic Costa Rican food. It was probably my favorite meal I've had this week, simple as it was. While we waited for the food, I walked with the Warrens through the rainforest backyard with Warren Jr. pointing out something interesting every few feet. This tour was well worth the money. I haven't taken other tours so I can't compare, but it is hard to imagine another crew loving what they do as much as this father-son duo. If you're wanting a quiet drive to the national park with no stops, or you want a faster tour, then maybe another tour company makes sense. Otherwise, I can't recommend this tour enough. Take it early in your trip. It will only increase your awareness of the beauty Costa Rica has to offer. The attached pictures were all taken with my phone, including the one of the Warrens stopping to pick up trash by the side of the road. Like I said, they have a profound love for their country and nature.

A MUST DO!!!!! We went on the Rio Celeste tour and Palo Verde trip! Punctual at our hotel at 7 am both times. greeting us with great smiles and introductions. Warren Sr. was our driver/guide and Jose was with us at Palo Verde, and Warren Jr. went with us to Rio Celeste. Can these guys ever spot animals, the reason, they are passionate about their country and all its plants and animals, wild or domesticated. Warren Sr. cannot pass a starving dog without stopping the van to give them some food (very commendable). We saw a dozen Toucans, howler monkeys, sloths, 4 other different birds and red frogs (stopped for each one to get photos as needed) even before we got to the park! their enthusiasm is infectious, and their knowledge of the flora, fauna, and ecology is amazing! Great "sodas" (TYPICAL COSTA RICAN DINER) for lunch!!!

Jose (and Carlos) picked us up in the morning from our hotel in Tamarindo - we headed up to the volcano with a quick stop at a bakery for breakfast. Jose was interactive with all of us (small groups are a plus with this tour company), and gave us loads of information on what we saw. He kept us informed as to what the day would look like and it went so smooth. The perfect blend of hiking, water play, animal spotting, etc. He was patient and still able to keep us on track to see everything we could in one day. The telescope with the ability to take a photo with our phones through the lens was a plus! Our lunch on the way back as delicious. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the Guanacaste region - don't miss out!

Jose made our day very special. His extensive knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area made for a very informative hike. He was constantly on the lookout for animals in the trees while driving. He managed to spot 4 adult (2with babies) sloths and stopped the van and set up a scope so we could all get a good, close up look and take pictures with our cellphones through the scope. We also saw toucans, howler monkeys, wild turkeys, a group of coati, and a whiteface monkey. Jose went to a lot of trouble to find a strawberry frog and then carefully returned it to where he found it after we took pictures. I love that this tour company stays away from any of the areas where they keep these animals in captivity. All of these animals were seen in the wild. Jose was very attentive, ensuring everyone was comfortable and having fun. Lunch was delicious and the swim in the falls iron the way home was the perfect end to a perfect day. Highly recommend this tour.

We had two exceptional tours with Jose and Warren. The tours are the best we have ever experienced. They are small parties and Jose and Warren are 100% focused on your happiness and satisfaction. The van has wifi (although you should abandon all devices to get the best experience). Warren and Jose have an incredible ability to find sloths, monkeys, toucans, frogs and other delightful animals during the tours. They have huge hearts and care so much for all of the animals of Costa Rica. The tours stopped at a little bakery for breakfast and we had two amazing meals at small restaurants with enough food for everyone. The tours to the rain forest, waterfalls, blue lakes, waterfall and sulpher/mud baths were perfect ways to see the best that CR has to offer. They were wonderful days filled with beauty and you get all of the history and background on the sites and parks. Don't waste your time / money with any other tours. Warren and Jose are the original and they know how to provide the best, most magnificent experiences in Costa Rica! Reminder to bring cash (us dollars are fine) to tip your amazing guides!
