Tough to get to, but is the best beach in Costa Rica. Have used the beach many weeks before Mel Gibson bought Dorado several years ago. Beautiful beach framed by large hills/mountains that protect the beach. Take care in the water, it can be a...More

A gorgeous beach no doubt, and we may have just gone at the wrong time of year. Because of the size of the waves and the warning sign of the rip current, none of us went in the water other than by the rocks on...More

Amazing beach with not even one house near by. That makes it pure magic and a true beach adventure. The ocean is amazing and with some rocks on low tie you may have small ocean pools. Is a great beach to enjoy

The beach is great--very clean--fun, big waves! There are some places to get shade which is much needed if you are there the entire day.

If you visit Samara, Carrillo, or any place near this beach, you need to go there and see how clear the water is and how white the sand is. Totally recommend to take a walk.

We rode horses down the beach, it was so fun. Practically no one there, maybe 2 other groups. The road going in looks a bit rough but definitely drivable. Would have loved to spend the whole day there.

The drive to get to the beach is only possible with a SUV 4x4 drive and is quite adventurous (driving through the river and small road). The beach is wonderfull with trees to get some shadow. Great for surfing and swimming.Like a postcard!

It's not too far.I am going to guess around one to two miles. However, I am not sure if there is a trail from natural roots. We went by it on our way to another beach that is super cool as well. So that one may be closer.

Yes, you definitely need a 4X4. There are 2 ways to get there. The short way from Samara and the "long way from Samara. The short way requires crossing a river. I have crossed many times and I have also turned around... More
