Hello Marie
We would like to react to your comment, which is really strong, UNTRUE and hurts me personally.
Especially since you let it seem like you enjoyed the ride all along, and you thanked Lisa very much for it when you returned to the ranch.
Categorizing the walk as "horrible" therefore seems to me to be in total contradiction with what you said during the morning.
I will let you read the 250 or so opinions that say exactly the opposite of what you say. Horses are more than WELL TREATED and PAMPERED at horsejungle. And we are proud of it because it is a lot of work and investment, but they deserve it!
Dentist, osteopathy, healthy food and fresh water daily, anti-parasite treatment, anti-dermatitis treatment, vaccines, adapted iron, adapted equipment.... these are the proofs that horses are very well treated: much better than in any others ranchs.
Our horses live in herds outdoors. It is therefore inevitable that they scratch and injure themselves while playing and communicating with their park's friends! But we think it is better to have horses that are well in their heads, with a few injuries, when they are due to living conditions that are as close as possible to those they have in nature. You can choose to ride club horses that live indoors. But that's not my philosophy.
As for the saddles, they are chosen and adapted to the horses from here. They were approved by our saddle fiter who came from France to review and give her opinion. Are you professional to suggest that the material chosen is not the right one? Excuse me for doubting
They are chosen first and foremost for the safety of the client, then according to the morphology of the horse and its comfort.
We also adapt the mats, because here in the other ranches it is customary to put layers and thicknesses to hide the harness injuries, but we prefer to do otherwise and think about adapting for each horse his personal matters.
When we buy our horses, it is important to know that most of them already suffered from serious injuries to the harness. We make sure to heal these wounds, then we do everything we can to find the right equipment so that the wounds don't reopen!
So we have various tricks, such as talcum powder, carpet cutting, a mixture of vegetable oil and essential oil, among others... We also have horses that have other problems, such as skin problems or problems related to humidity in Costa Rica. We are aware of this, and we do not close our eyes to it = we provide them with the necessary daily care! These are normal things in horses, like any other living thing.
Most of those small problems do not prevent horses from being ridden. If there is a large wound, the horses are obviously resting throughout their recovery.
Regarding Lisa your guide, I think you misunderstood. Lisa has been a guide in Costa Rica for 8 months. But she had her first horse at the age of 3 and has always lived surrounded by horses because everyone in her family is a rider and owns horses at home. Lisa knows horses perfectly well and knows her job perfectly aswell.
To say that Lisa lacks experience is a LIE!
Your daughter's fall is not related to the equipment, but results from a loss of balance on her part when she dropped the saddle knob when she wanted to stop. Indeed, before galloping, we always inform people that they must hold on to the saddle for greater safety. Everything went very well at first, but then she was destabilized when she wanted to slow down and stop, letting go of the knob. The horse did nothing more than what his rider had asked him to do. Regalo is extremely gentle and docile. He hasn't moved, neither has the saddle, but some people may be less balanced than others.
Concerning the pickup, there is plenty of room for everyone. We have 4 seats available. I would like to remind you that we have given you the choice of getting in the back or inside the car. It was your daughters who wanted to experience the Costa Rican adventure and ride in the back. Apparently for their greatest pleasure, since they took videos to immortalize the adventure. So how can you blame us today for trying to please you? All you had to do was tell us that you would prefer to be placed inside the vehicle.
Of course, you always have the choice to refuse the service we offer FREE of charge and to take a taxi.
Wishing you all the best for the future,
HorseJungle
