About
The KINGFISHER is 31 foot Palm Beach, with full electronics, tower and outriggers, offering ample shade and room for up to 5 anglers, it is set up for the serious fishermen as well as the novice angler. We have been sending home satisfied anglers year after year to the point that the majority of our business is now repeat customers, and word of mouth. We strive to take fishing to a more personal level. We encourage angler participation, and while at first (especially to the novice) it may seem difficult, given a good day it is hard not to catch the fever.

Fishing with Kingfisher was AMAZING! Captain Rick and Orlando were excellent hosts. We caught mahi and sailfish and our 7 yr old even reeled in tuna and some smaller fish that he could manage. I HIGHLY recommend Kingfisher!

Rick was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, patient even with us novice anglers. We launched with first mate, Orlando, and spent a day hunting the elusive yellow tail tuna. We saw deep blue water, scores or spinner dolphins, watched nature’s feeding frenzy, and hauled up about 80 pounds of tuna. It was a great day, the weather was perfect, I accidentally learned some angling and nature facts, and ended up, later that night, with a meal of some of the tuna. Great crew. Great experience. Would fully recommend.

My family and I spent a full day with Rick and his crew on 8/1/15. We raised 4 sailfish and three marlin. Lost a 250 lb + marlin but boated a big Pacific sailfish. Also caught 20+ yellowfin tuna. I am a lifelong saltwater fisherman and I can attest that Rick and his crew are experienced professionals that know their business. Top notch equipment and a knowledgeable crew will make your trip one to remember for a lifetime. Thanks guys! Hope to see you again soon!

I am a World traveller and have Fished around the world and have never felt the need to complain about a service, however I am so unhappy with the owner, Ricks conduct that I have to leave this review to hope other do not get treated like this.
Booked four fishing days for $4,000.00, yes a lot of money, so expected a good service.
On the first day Rick failed to arrive on time as he was surfing!
On the Second day, the engine of the boat was broken so 3 hours wasted, not informed before we went.
Third day, taxi never arrived, more fishing time wasted.
Fourth day, ok, but no fish as the other days, this I did not mind one Tuna, goes with deep sea fishing, a chance you take.
We only we able to fish the three days, which also had time missing.
At the end of this day, we tried to negotiate with Rick due to the Fishing time missed. We were calm and orderly, he became verbally abusive, and my friends daughter became very distraught at his manner. Very unprofessional and gave us $100 off after ranting and raving and swearing. Not thel Costa Rican way, so don’t let this put you off this Country its lovely. We payed in cash and could not get a proper receipt.
Actually now we don’t even know if we had valid insurance on the boat. I am taking my complaint further.
I really hope no one else falls for this treatment.

Warm Beer (iced to get cold later) - a 3 litter coke bottle filled with Tap water (what the heck?) no water bottles or any other drinks - uncovered cuts of pineapple in fishing cooler as the only snack for a 6 hour trip - but wait you must be thinking that the fishing is what really matters right? - 1 fish caught in 6 hours- we weren't allowed to get a picture taken with it - fishing in circles - not really changing bait or bait distance or making any real effort to catch anything. There are other real fishermen out there, find them. I know it's called fishing and not "catching" but It seems to the 6 of us on the boat that Rick and his first mate Orlandao are tired of fishing but not tired of getting paid for it.

Rick is the owner and he personally took us out on the boat. Very nice and made sure that we had a great time. Then he took time out to meet us for dinner!!
It doesn't get more personalized than that...this is the best!

Its been almost a month and I still cant forget the awesome time and the great experience being able to catch a Blue Marlin on the Kingfisher! The First Mate "Orlando" and Capt Rick make a good team on the water. I am a Captain and experienced angler and I would recommend fishing on the Kingfisher to anyone!
I will be back to Costa Rica soon! I'll see y'all then Pura Vida!!

We went out with Rick and his crew yesterday and had the most amazing time ever! We are from northern Minnesota, so are all tried and true anglers, but as you can imagine, this was different than anything we had experienced.
Rick is extremely personable and does everything possible to give you the fishing trip of a lifetime. His crew was great - helping us with anything we needed. They had fresh fruit available all day, iced tea, juice, beer and water to drink. And they made us a fantastic lunch with fresh avocados, cucumbers, tomatoes - it was great! We left the bay at 8:30; we started fishing about 9:30 and by 10:30 had the first sailfish on. After that we caught one about every 20 minutes! Overall, we caught 12 sailfish (lost one, landed 11) and had a ball!
We found out about the Kingfisher from Tripadvisor, and I'm so glad we did. It was worth every cent and we'd highly recommend going with him. You will have a trip you'll never forget!

Just came in from fishing with Captain Rick and Crew. Landed 3 sailfish and lots of action. The boat was clean, well maintained, quality tackle, and comfortable off-shore. Rick and crew were personable and a pleasure to be with. We appreciated Ricks experience and his willingness to spend time and money on gas when it slowed down to find the fish!! Awesom trip.

My husband and I took a day trip with Rick on the Kingfisher last week for our 5th wedding anniversary. We fish most weekends during the summer, but have always done so from land. Getting out on a boat was on my husband's bucket list, and they made it a great experience. Every aspect of our day went smoothly, from pick up to drop-off at the end. We caught five fish that day, of which we were able to get 3 on the boat. All sail fish. They were beautiful, huge and put up a great fight. Despite being somewhat seasick, my husband had a great time. The crew were great about helping us with everything, including making sure he had water and crackers to calm his stomach. They had great snacks, fresh fruit, beer and water, and good fresh sandwiches for lunch. They couldn't have been more kind or more helpful. During our trip we saw hundreds of dolphins and got amazing views of them by watching from the front of the boat and even getting in the water with them. Jumping in was a bit scary at first, but definitely an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend Rick and the Kingfisher to friends. And, we hope to be back with Dramamine - in the future.

Hello how much would it cost for two people for three to four hours
Written June 1, 2016
Its around $1000-1200 for the day...... Rick goes around 25-35 miles off shore for the big fish. I'm sure anything is negotiable but to get to the marlin/sailfish, gotta go the miles. Its worth it.
