We offer scenic flights in an open gyrocopter of 20 minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes departing from Sámara, Tamarindo, Nosara and Punta Islitas. Contact us for details. Description Tour Sámara: Taking off from our runway "Airpark Costa Rica" locally known as "La Pista" only 10 minutes outside of the beautiful little beach town Sámara in Guanacaste. Our shortest tour of 20 minutes will lead you first to one of the most beautiful white beaches in Guanacaste called Playa Barrigona where famous actor Mel Gibson owns a beach property. Next, you will head inland to the River Buena Vista on the lookout for sunbathing crocodiles along the river. The next part of your flight takes you to the beaches of Sámara and Carillo where you might get a soaring eagles' perspective of manta rays, dolphins, big schools of fish and sea turtles. From Carillo you'll overfly the Isla Chora on the way to Playa Buena Vista were you'll experience the sensation of flying just over breaking waves and feel you're surfing in mid-air! Return to the runway while enjoying a beautiful view of the rain forests and mangroves. In the time from December to March and August to Oktober you can often see whales playing near the shore. What to bring? You'll need a video or photo camera that can be secured at your wrist, also good idea to bring sunglasses.

The pilot was very knowledgeable of the area and had a good eye for picking out crocodiles, Eagle rays, dolphins, etc. The best way to find an oasis in a country with terrible roads.

My teenage sons and I each did the 30 minute flight. We all loved it. Fabulous views over the ocean and the lovely Costa Rican countryside. We zipped over the ocean both low enough to almost touch the waves and high enough to get the best view of whales and rays. Joerg, our pilot, gave us lots of information over... More

by far one of the best things to do in samara ,no need to travel 2.5 hours when this is only 10 minutes from town. Joerg is a great pilot and very friendly and easy to talk to. Would do this again.

We got a recommendation by someone in our Hostel in Samara. The weather wasn't that great (it was in the middle of the rainy season). Therefore I thought the experience might not be that good, but instead it was just phenomenal! A super smooth and super save feeling during the hole flight, especially the landing was comparable to landing on... More

Amazing experience! A definitely must-do if you are in this region of Costa Rica! The gyrocopter allows you to enjoy all of what the costa rican nature can provide : sea, jungle, rivers, waterfalls, animals (such as crocodiles) and beautiful landscapes. You will be able to have a look at all of that from an aerial point of view which... More

I took a gyrocopter with Joerg in Samara and had an amazing 20 minute experience! Joerg guided me toward a 9am flight time which was perfect --we spotted crocodiles, a humpback whale with it's baby, turtles, Eel rays, as well as some beautiful coastline. The views are spectacular and Costa Rica is one of the few places in the world... More

If you do nothing else in your life, you must experience this gyro-copter tour of beautiful Costa Rica. I especially enjoyed the thrilling experience of skimming about 15 feet above the surf at almost 90 MPH. I felt like I could reach down and high-five the surfers as we zoomed just above them!

Without a doubt, the highlight of my trip so far was the gyrocopter tour I did this morning with Ultralight Tours in Samara. The pilot Joerg was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining how the gyrocopter worked but the his knowledge of the area and the tour itself were incredible. From spotting crocodiles and sea-turtles, skimming over the waves along the beach,... More

Gyrocopter was on my bucketlist and i got the hint from a friend to fly with these guys. Joerg took me on a fascinating ride, short above the waves in high speed, up high to get an overview, along the curved rivers (flying as the river curves), showing me how safe the gyro is with all kind of techniques. Great... More
