We found Cheryl through the Samara Info Center and are so glad we did! Cheryl combines traditional massage therapy with reiki and still has a few other tricks up her sleeve. She came out to our rental villa in Carrillo, bringing her own table and goodies and gave me, my husband then mother in law each 60 minute massages. LOVED every minute. Cheryl is also a lovely person, raising her son in Samara and I enjoyed speaking with her about her family. Not to mention we're both from PA, born and raised and connected over 2,000 miles away! =)

We have visited Samara many years and in 2019 finally purchased our dream home. While looking for a massage therapist to recommend to our guests, our property manager (Melissa at Samara Rentals) told us about "the best in town," Cheryl at The Relaxation Spot. What a great recommendation!! Cheryl came to our home over two consecutive afternoons so that all five of us wanting treatments could experience her healing hands. Her firm theraputic/swedish massage coupled with unique stretching helped work out unknown knots and stiffness and allowed us all to enjoy the balance of our vacation week. She can come to your home/hotel, or you can visit her ocean-side. Highly recommend!!

What an absolutely wonderful experience. During our recent visit to Samara, Costa Rica, we had the distinct pleasure of meeting Cheryl Adams, the proprietor of The Relaxation Spot. If you are in Samara, you need to add a massage by Cheryl to all of your other travel activities. We highly recommend her for the following reasons:
Responsive – we reached out to Cheryl to set up a time slot for private massages. She promptly got back to us with her availability. As a matter of fact, she went out of her way to work with our schedule. When time is limited during vacation, and you are trying to plan activities for the family, working with someone who is sensitive to your timeliness requirements is an added bonus. Cheryl provides that added bonus.
Courteous – I do not think that you will find a more carrying, courteous individual in Samara. She carefully listens to your interests/needs and tailors her services to meet those interests/needs. She is soft spoken and from the start begins to create an environment that promotes relaxation.
Passionate – From the moment you speak to Cheryl you will appreciate that she is passionate about making sure you have the best possible experience. She has been performing massages for a number of years and has perfected her tradecraft. That being said, Cheryl is not simply about performing massages, she is searching to create a truly therapeutic experience.
English Speaking – if your Spanish is a bit rusty, not to worry. Cheryl was raised in the U.S. and speaks perfect English. This is an added bonus when you are trying to plan the best possible experience.
Flexible – We made arrangements to have Cheryl perform her massages in the privacy of our vacation rental. Our rental had a great view of the ocean and the combination of the view and her skills made for quiet the experience. That being said, Cheryl has the facilities to perform massages on the beach or in her own home garden. All you need to do is tell her what you are looking to accomplish and she will find a way to make that happen.
I recommend that you engage Cheryl early in your vacation. She can help you transition to “pura vida” thus making your stay in Costa Rica that much more enjoyable. We engaged her early in our trip, and then had her come back the day before our departure to loosed those muscles back up from all of our Costa Rican activities.
She is talented, dedicated, and just simply a pleasure to be around. I do not hesitate to recommend Cheryl and her massage services. First Class in every respect.

amazing location but the massage - Cheryl is a true professional. Never having had a massage before I was uncomfortable going in and she totally gave me confidence in her and in massage. She knew esxactly how to make me comfortable and she gave me a FANTASTIC massage. The paperwork in advance was very professional and made me relax knowing that she is striving to make the whole experience terrific. Her location canNOT be beat - on the beach with ocean breezes, quiet and comfortable. Anyone who is thinking about a massage better hurry up and book or buy a gift certificate because once word gets out - get in line BEHIND me! Amazing woman - amazing massage.!!!!

I just had my first massage from Cheryl and was completely blown away. I'd heard a number of people around town sing her praises and I finally had the opportunity to find out for myself. Needless to say, she did not disappoint! Don't let her petite frame fool you, this woman has strong hands and she knows exactly how to use them. Not only was she able to detect precisely which areas were bothering me, but she always used the perfect amount of pressure to work them out. Thank you for your healing hands. You are one of the best and I'll be back for sure!

I had the great pleasure of booking two sessions with Cheryl over the past week. Each session provided the opportunity for me to find peace and relaxation in my body and my mind. Cheryl’s calming energy coupled with her expertise in many forms of massage are truly healing. I cannot express my gratitude enough.

Back home monthly massages for years for a lower back problem ..my calves were sore from all the hiking and walking on the beach in Samara so I decided why not have a massage , two in one month would be a treat ...Cheryl considered all my aches and pains, treated my body with gentle nurturing care and you know when you say aaawh , you know it feels good , until she did this amazing hip stretch , oh my God .. I haven't been able to bend my legs like that in years ...I'm walking normal ... feels like I'm floating . I've been home for a few weeks now and still feeling fantastic and walking normal with no back issues . I highly recommend Cheryl ~ you will not be disappointed !

We've had several wonderful 90 minute massages at Cheryl's beachside location. The massages are relaxing and effective. She begins the session with a conversation to customize the massage to your wants/needs. Highly recommended as part of your visit to Samara
